Met bff here to experience the food as we’ve heard it’s an experience. Walk in and it’s vast. Very industrial feel with Polished concrete floor and lots of high top tables. One worker was evident for the whole place and she welcomed us and quickly took our order. I had the fish and chips with a Corona. Bff had fried shrimp and okra. Bff also decided to trip the light fantastic and enjoy a hurricane. I tried the hurricane and it was waaay too boozy for me. Absolutely nailed a NOLO hurricane at this place folks! Food arrives and you know what? It’s arrival is meh. My fish tastes alot like Long John Silvers. If you like fast and greasy fish this is the place. My Cajun fries however were insanely delicious. Make sure you order this option! Yes! Simple fries made better with whatever hotten-heimer seasoning they use-DELICIOUS! My beer was tepid (I despise tepid) and a disappointment. Bffs shrimp and okra was exactly what I expected: Aunt Betty’s attempt at something tasty masked by breading. Unless you pour Tabasco or something tasty over it you’ll suffer disappointment. The gold star was the service. I truly won’t go back unless I’m doing a crawl that includes a NOLO hurricane.

We went there for lunch. The restaurant had just opened, and we were the first customers to arrive. Very informal dining. You place the order, and it is brought to your table. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had (1) fried fish and shrimp with fried okra; and (2) fried fish and shrimp and French fries. The food tested excellent, and it was reasonably priced. The portions were very generous. The fish and shrimp were spicy, but everything tasted good to me.
Note that all the food was fried. There are no salads on the menu.

Another happen chance find in Downtown Lawrence. On a ravishing recommendation from a customer who was leaving the restaurant. We entered – ordered the Seafood platter and hush puppies. Hush puppies were great, just the right amount of crunch and soft inside. Our main course arrived. We selected the Cajun spice. Corn on the cob, two sets of crab legs, two sausages, two eggs and plenty of shrimp and potatoes marinated in a oh so good broth. We devored most of it before crying uncle. We’re already plotting our next return. Staff Daniel (sister of owner),was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. It’s not high end, but the food certainly hits all the marks.

I had a pregnancy craving for spicy King crab and Krustaceans Lawrence was the closest location to where we live that serves it. We were not disappointed! The food was super good. You order upfront and seat yourself. The staff was super friendly and checked on how we liked our food, more than once. The food came out quickly and was seasoned perfectly!
We ended up ordering two full orders of the King Crab mix and extra corn! The single order would be perfect for two people to split if it came with two corns and two eggs in the order instead of just one each (so make sure to add them, and this is literally my only suggestion on improvement). The King crab legs were super good, easy to break and not over cooked! The shrimp were cleaned and deshelled all but the tail, which made them easy to eat. The corn was amazing, I could eat a whole order of just the spicy tossed corn honestly!
I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other things on the menu!

We love this place! The food is always excellent, the staff friendly, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere welcoming. Please note, the food is Cajun style, lots of spice, butter, and flavor…. If you don’t like spice, take note… Personally, our family loves it and we highly recommend them!

My family ordered 3 meals from here and after eating 2 legs I discovered these weird bug like things. Upon further research I learned these are Crab Leech Eggs. I was almost sick because it disgusted me so much and I did not finish my food. I returned to the restaurant to ask for a refund on just my meal not the whole order. The person helping me tried to gaslight me saying “it’s not what I think it is” when in reality it was. I later received a message relayed from the owner stating I CAN get a refund I just needed to return the food. Not a problem. 10 minutes later I get another message stating I can no longer get a refund because these creature eggs are a common occurrence. I tried to explain how if my food was properly cleaned this wouldn’t have been an issue but these eggs have probably now dropped INTO the rest of my food and now I’m eating them. That to me is unacceptable but according to the owner, crab leech eggs in my food is safe and just fine. Highly disappointed. Won’t be coming back since I can’t be sure my food is properly cleaned.
