Came in on a weeknight for dinner with colleagues. Service was excellent. The décor and venue is very nice, it reminded me of an old-school, neighborhood Italian joint and then I found out they’ve been here over 40 years… sure did look like it. But it’s kept up beautifully! Their menu is HUGE! Loaded with all sorts of amazing Italian food! I had such a tough time deciding what to get, so I was able to try a couple of things by making one entrée an appetizer.

We started with their Money Bags and it was really good! Nicely made and creative! The flavors of everything in the “pouch” was incredibly matched with the flavors and texture of the sauce – so good! Next up was their Chicken Diavola and it was nicely made and huge! Lots of food on that plate!! It came with shrimp on top, those were fresh and huge shrimp. It was served over pasta with fresh spinach and all the flavors came together nicely.

Save room for dessert, they have a nice selection of them! I got their lemon mascarpone cake – It was great!

Overall, very nice dinner… I’ll definitely return!

Angela’s has been a go to place for my family for many years. It’s one of our favorites for special ocassions because you know the service and food is going to be incredible everytime. They have great Italian classics and specials. Everything is awesome. The pizza is very good. The atmosphere has a cozy neighborhood feel. This is a gem in the near West end.

I have only eaten here twice, and one was just takeout. I had dined with a friend previously, to our surprise the place felt a bit cramped with all the tables. I felt a bit out of place from people that I presume to be regulars looking at us odd. We enjoyed some wine, shared calamari, and I ordered the shrimp scampi, which I mostly enjoyed but questioned if it was frozen shrimp they use. The service was decent, prices are about average, maybe a little higher on some menu items. My takeout order was just one XL pizza, pretty good but nothing extraordinary, and reasonable price. I have seen some reviews about the pieces of metal in people’s food in which management responded badly. Their health inspection reports do seem to coincide with those customers experiences is all I can say…

We are still at the restaurant and I stopped eating to make this post because I am so disgusted at how some of the staff here have treated us. Our server Daniella is awesome and tried to accommodate us. My dads food came very late
while everyone else was eating. The food runner was very sarcastic and basically told us the food
comes when it comes. I planned this special dinner for my parents Anniversary on a recommendation from a friend only to have the dinner ruined with some very bad attitudes. On a lighter note the food and wine was great and tonight would have been amazing had we been treated differently. The owners didn’t want to talk to us or address any of our concerns. This is so disappointing. Unfortunately, I strongly feel that if we were a different ethnicity, we would not have had the same negative experience. I hate saying that, but this is how we were treated, with prejudice.

So good—I love their food. The owner is always in the back cooking, and everything tastes truly homemade. Their Alfredo is delicious; I’ve had it so many ways—stuffed shells, ravioli, and more. I also love their red sauce mussels. If you’re looking for homemade Italian food, this is the place.

The food here is fantastic. Chef Michael is dedicated to his craft and has been producing amazing dishes for 40 years! Michelle was our server as well and was so sweet and knew the menu like the back of her hand

An excellent Italian restaurant. Everything we had was tasty and perfectly cooked. For me personally, I think there was too much sauce for the amount of pasta and I did not care for all that parsley on top. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!

This restaurant is chaos when it’s busy. Rather than take names and party size, they curtly ask waiting patrons to stand in a line – terrible when it’s inclement weather or if you have physically disabled members in your party.

On a Tuesday, we waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes. When a couple left, they were frustrated and told us they had been there for 2+ hours due to poor service. The moments we were inside the restaurant, the hostess was raising her voice to tell people to get out of the way. All preventable in the small space if they took names and numbers.

If we return it’ll be take out.

Loved the experience. Came in for a bite before a show at the Altria the food was still on my mind by curtain call. Our server was so open to help us get the most out of our night.
Petitions are large and everything was fresh.

Went back recently after a few years away from Richmond and it was still great as ever. Chef Michael, Denise and the staff were fantastic and the food and mood were as well. Our go to for great Italian when in Richmond.
