Been looking for some chilaquilles that my wife would find savory. Came across Tauearte and what a superb find. The chilaquilles were some of the best I’ve had and the wife was satisfied. The quesadilla was really good and the green/red sauce made it extra good. Maybe the staff was overwhelmed so I’ll give them a break, but honestly I almost left even though we had already ordered. Pro tip get there early cause the seating area is small and the line gets long. The parking lot is also small I parked on the street. The bakery associated with the restaurant has good pan dulce [had better] but it’s good for a sweet treat after the meal.

We visited Taquearte in Los Angeles, California to try what many consider the best chilaquiles in the United States, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The chilaquiles are made completely from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavors are perfectly balanced, authentic, and incredibly satisfying.
Taquearte is not only known for having some of the best chilaquiles in Los Angeles, but also for offering excellent tacos, costras, quesadillas, and other traditional Mexican dishes. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. If you’re searching for authentic Mexican food in Los Angeles or specifically the best chilaquiles in the U.S., Taquearte is a must-visit.

Delicious chilaquiles. The Queca (quesadilla) was also phenomenal. Everything tastes homemade (which it is if you peer into kitchen when you go use restroom). To top it all off you can go to their bakery and grab something sweet. The 3 flavor concha was the best I’ve had.

Had a fantastic experience at Taquearte. I managed to walk right in, though it’s clearly a popular local spot that gets packed during peak hours and weekends. The chilaquiles are a must-try if you like some heat—they were delicious and paired perfectly with their coffee. The thin-cut meat was a highlight for me. Highly recommend!

Nice place to eat. We went for the chilaquiles! Super delicious. You can pick if you want them spicy or not. I got the red spicy ones with beef steak and my husband got the green spicy ones with eggs. We came to an agreement that the green ones had better flavor. The portions are big enough for one person. We also had aguas frescas (Jamaica and Pepino w/ Limon). They also have a panadería. The wait time was about 30 minutes so we could be seated and for the food to be served was about 10 minutes.
There are also options of tacos or other dishes but those are served after midday.

I be 100% honest. Are these the best Chilaquiles I have ever had. No,because I grew up in mexico so I know a little bit about the food. But they are definitely some of best Chilaquiles I have tested from a restaurant in a long time. I had the red spicy salsa and they are not that spicy. If you can handle Flaming hot cheetos then you can handle the Red spicy chilaquiles no problem. I also got them with the carne asada or as they like to call it “Bistec” and that was a really good quality of meat. It felt like I was eating Chilaquiles at my aunties house. As athentic as it gets. We also had their quesadilla with mushrooms, onions, cheese and chorizo and green/red sauce on top. Really really good. Definitely would come back again.

Taquearte California is a small but impressive spot, especially if you’re a fan of chilaquiles. On my recent visit, I ordered the green salsa chilaquiles with eggs and a Mexican beef steak, and they did not disappoint. The flavors were fresh, well balanced, and comforting, easily the highlight of the meal and a clear reason this place is known for them.
The wait time was reasonable, about 15 minutes, and the menu was straightforward without being overwhelming, which made ordering easy. The restaurant itself looked clean and inviting, with a modern brunch style vibe. I especially appreciated that it wasn’t overloaded with unnecessary Mexican decor, instead, it felt contemporary and home.
Overall, Taquearte California is a great choice for a relaxed brunch with quality food. If you’re craving chilaquiles done right, this place is definitely worth a visit.

The chilaquiles are great—definitely the highlight here. Just keep in mind that this place can get a bit pricey since almost every extra comes with an added charge. I’ve been here twice now: the first time (takeout) was better, possibly because the restaurant was packed. The second time I dined in and the chips were a little cold.
Overall, I still recommend this spot. The chilaquiles are solid and worth trying.

Dropped by Taquearte California and was really impressed by the flavors–especially their Verde dish.
The verde sauce was the star–bright, tangy, and packed with flavor without being too spicy. It added just the right amount of kick to the tender meat (we had it with pork), which was juicy and well-seasoned. Everything was layered with care–fresh tortillas, melted cheese, and just the right balance of sauce to meat.
The spot itself is small and casual, with quick, friendly service. Great for a laid-back meal when you’re craving something bold and satisfying.
Definitely a solid stop if you’re in the area and want a hit of fresh, flavorful Mexican food.

Taquearte is very popular. They are known for their chilaquiles.
We ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo & egg. The chips stayed crisp in the tangy spicy salsa. They had a nice variety of side salsas as well.
Most people don’t complain about cheese. When it came out though, it looked like cottage cheese, which cooled off the chilaquilas more than it should have. It is Mexican cheese, though.
Overall, the meal was good. I would just melt the cheese a little bit more or put less of it on.
There is normally a line, and when we left, we saw it starting to form.
