Today we had an unlimited breakfast at Pappu Dosha. They served several items like masala dosa, idli, puri, and different types of chutneys. We really liked their food—especially the masala dosa, which was very good, and the idli, which was soft and delicious. The puri was not as good as we expected, but the chutneys and sambar were tasty. The atmosphere was nice and calm in the morning.

It’s a very good option for unlimited breakfast, and we would recommend it to people who enjoy a variety of dishes in affordable price. The only small issue we faced was the sunlight in the dining area, which caused a bit of disturbance. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Amazing food joint..
Really affordable tasty delicious food. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. First time I arrived was with my one year old baby and we were sharing the Thali. And a staff member gave me a portion of grapes for my baby whilst she was waiting for her dinner. When the food did come out, after not much wait at all, they gave us extra yoghurt to calm down some of the spices! The second time I went was for a friend’s birthday and I had an extra spicy dosa! The portions are huge! I love the design of the place, lots of freehand sign work, bold colours, clean and welcoming/laid back atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend enough and will always go there when I’m in Bristol.

In Menu, specific times for food are mentioned, like 12–3 pm for lunchtime.

I arrived after lunchtime. I hadn’t noticed the time frame earlier. I asked the male staff member if it was still available.
He said no and replied, It’s clearly mentioned in the time frame. The communication itself was okay.

Then I looked at the rest of the menu. Some noodle dishes were listed as available only from 5 pm to 10 pm, so I didn’t order those because of the time restriction.

However, there was another box like combo on the menu with no time frame mentioned.
I asked the same male staff member if that one was available. This time his behaviour became quite rude. He said that, I can’t place the order. You might see it as available, but I can’t enter it in the system.
I was shocked. I was simply confused and just asking whether it was actually available, since it was in a separate box without any time mentioned.

My friend also felt very bad because of his attitude.
I suggested to my friend that we could look for another place, but he didn’t want to travel anymore as it would affect his plans. So we decided to order food from there anyway.

I’m not complaining about the taste or quality of the food at all. My only issue is that staff member’s rude attitude.

Yesterday night (29 June 2025), I had food here and I’m genuinely surprised by the negative reviews this restaurant has received in the past because my experience was excellent. I tried the Manchurian, filter coffee, chole bhatura, and ghee masala dosa. As someone from Karnataka, my South Indian roots were truly satisfied here this is the closest I’ve felt to authentic South Indian food in the UK, alongside places like MTR and Saravana Bhavan in London.

The Manchurian reminded me exactly of the street style flavours I grew up with crispy, tangy, and full of the right spices. It really took me back to the food stalls back home. The chole bhatura was decent, though slightly average compared to the rest of the meal. Since this is primarily a South Indian restaurant, perhaps ordering a North Indian dish wasn’t the best choice on my part.

The standout items were definitely the filter coffee and the ghee masala dosa. The filter coffee was rich and perfectly balanced just the way it should be, smooth with that deep roasted aroma. The ghee masala dosa was soft, buttery, and packed with flavour, making it one of the best I’ve had outside India. Overall, I’d say this place is well worth a visit if you want authentic South Indian food that hits the mark.

Had THE best Indian food we have had in the UK this evening. So authentic, it completely transported us back to our trip to India. Incredible tasting, fresh food and the staff were excellent. Helpful and attentive and the ordering process is streamlined with interactive menu machines to order on. Could not recommend this place enough! Will be telling all our friends, family and colleagues in the area for sure!

Had heard about Pappu Dosa so decided to drop in on our way to Wales from London. Sitting area is very basic but clean- diners clean the table after eating. The surroundings including the bin and the wash basin do need a good scrub. The wash basin is far too small for a restaurant where most people will be eating with their fingers. It was cold as front door couldn’t be closed properly.
Service was prompt and polite inspite of there being a constant flow of people.
Vada sambar and chutney was very good. Plain dosa I thought could have been more crisp and the potato baji in masala dosa was just okay. Overall food was good and we would like to try the branch in Bristol.
I think something needs to be done about the environment. Looks like it is victim of its own success and needs a larger premises.

Finally found an Indian that tastes like a proper authentic Indian meal! On our way to a festival in Wales from north Essex and stopped here for the laundrette next door. Extremely excited to see a Dosa place and didn’t disappoint. Each chutney and sambah had its own distinct and incredible flavours with a good amount of spice and humungous, crispy Dosa. On the way back we stopped again and tried the Thali which was also perfect and very well priced! Anyone who wants a proper Indian meal get ya’selves here! Can’t wait to come back next year or please open a branch in colchester

Found this place as we were traveling around the Cotswolds. What a find! Tiny, unassuming and very reasonable. Reminded me of my local dosa place in Delhi. We had the masala dosa, chole bhature, vada pav, a plate of idli. Each of them faultless, packed with flavours and generous portions.
We washed it all down with mango lassie and ended with some cham cham.

Wish we lived closer.
