I don’t live in the area so, no.
I was in the area today at lunchtime so I thought I’d give it another shot.
I got the Windy City Dog $7.00, a Pronto Pup $2.00 & a sm fry $2.25
Pronto Pup was hot, crispy & was very close (but not quite) like the GH PP location.
Fries, which I’m very picky about – were hot, crispy & perfectly seasoned. If you like skinny fries, crispy on the outside & fluffy potato on the inside – these are for you!!
My Windy City dog fell short however. The bun & the actual dog itself were ice cold. And mind you, I pulled into a lot across the street to eat while the food was fresh.
I love to get a dog from the downtown cart but I’m not sure I’d come back to the doghouse. But I wouldn’t tell someone not to try it.
The food: I ordered two chili cheese dogs. The quality and taste identical to what you would get at a gas station. But not quite as good, Unfortunately. There are a handful of areas within a couple mile radius of this place where their hot dogs are impressively good and actually cheaper.
The service: It was just a one man band so orders take a little while and is not very efficient but He was nice and professional.
I I really wanted to like this place. But I would be crazy to give it another opportunity or to refer anyone to give it a shot Just on quality, taste, And experience alone. Not to mention, there are several other restaurants in this area that have way better hotdog and for much less cost wise.
