Beautiful ambiance and great food, but serious hygiene issue ruined our 40th birthday celebration.

We visited MC Restaurant in Cary to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband. The food was delicious, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. We were hoping for a special evening without our teenagers.

Unfortunately, just after paying, we spotted a cockroach near our table, which was incredibly disappointing and disturbing for a high-end restaurant. I had also mentioned during our reservation that it was a birthday celebration, but the server was unaware until I told her, which felt like a missed opportunity to make our night more special.

I shared a video with the restaurant’s Instagram but have not yet received a response. I’ve sent this feedback to the restaurant via Instagram and am awaiting their response.

Because of this experience, we will not be returning.

I hope the restaurant addresses these issues to prevent future guests from facing the same problems.

Thank you

Great food and service. Tried the special which was a pasta dish, the sushi, and the A5 Wagyu. They were all delicious and well presented. Drinks were also great as well as desert. Nice to have a quality restaurant in downtown Cary.

Anniversary dinner was excellent. Ask for table for 2 on the porch if it’s a nice evening. Both seafood and meats available. Delicious cocktails. We shared lobster roll as appetizer, then shrimp and lamb chop entrees.

Absolutely gorgeous outdoor atmosphere and wonderful lighting. Inside is nice as well. Great food with a weekly or so rotating menu and daily rotating specials. Server was great. The lamb was phenomenally cooked, extremely tender, and fell off the bone. The sashimi was delicious and the wasabi is top notch. The crudo was my favorite dish.

I went to MC for the first time last night at the recommendation of a friend.

I ordered the Sashimi Platter ($40), the Red Curry Halibut meals and added the Surf and Turf, Tuna Taco makis and 1 order id the Hamachi sushi.

Everything was great until we decided that we were still hungry by ordering a second Sashimi Platter. The 2nd order PALED in comparison to our first order in terms of both the (1) quality of cuts and in particular, the (2) size portions. That 2nd platter seemed like the sushi chef went home and left a poor server to with no experience to prepare that plate. SEE PHOTOS COMPARING THE HUGE DIFFERENCE IN PORTION SIZES).

That was a huge disappointment. I informed inattentive server and she gave me some excuse that it was me who wrongly perceived that the portions were tiny. That response was disappointing to hear.

The atmosphere is great. The service was subpar for a restaurant with those menu prices. We had to repeatedly ask another more attentive server for help.

While the food was absolutely delicious (other items like the Red Curry Halibut were fantastic), they can do better in terms of portion cuts and consistency with their $40 Sashimi platter and service on busy nights like Friday.

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Each dish came out perfectly prepared. The ambiance was beautiful and comfortable at the same time. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive the entire time. I would not hesitate to go back again and again.

Great location and even better cuisine, especially for a special occasion. The food is Asian inspired with a heavy Japanese influence. I had the Flambe Australian Wagu which was cooked on a stone in front of me and set ablaze. It was exquisite. My wife had a Asian Prawn dish which she liked quite a lot. We also had wagu dumplings which were good. While the portions are on the small side, the quality and taste make it more than worth it. The sushi and sashimi were expertly prepared with very good quality fish. The atmosphere is homey with an upscale feel to it. The outdoor seating has a great view of the fountain, the Arts Center as well as Downtown Cary. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and patient. Very highly recommend for a nice meal.

Went for a solo dinner and had a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere and vibe in a renovated historic home in downtown Cary. Service and management are excellent, pleasant, and attentive without being intrusive. Oscar was amazing! The Ceasar Salad was delicious, the Wasabi-based dressing had the right amount of kick to not make it overpowering. I had the Beaufort Swordfish and Shrimp which was cooked to perfection. Don’t skip dessert, the Molten Chocolate Cake was epic. Everything on the menu is locally sourced and the menu changes every Thursday. I would recommend making a reservation as they have limited seating. This hidden gem is a must if you’re a local or in town for business!

I celebrated my birthday at this fancy restaurant, which had very nice and satisfying food. I was told that they often change their menu every Thursday, so don’t be surprised if you can’t find a dish you wanted to order based on reviews. In my opinion, this is a great strategy to attract both regular and new customers.

Whatever you choose to order here, I highly recommend the Hanoi Lambchop—it’s the best option. It’s worth the price, delicious, and comes with four generously sized lamb chops. I made a bit of a mistake by not ordering it this time, but that just gives me a reason to come back and enjoy it for sure 🙂

We were in Cary and wanted to eat some food Asian food. It was a nice cool fall Saturday night, we were both feeling alright. We wanted to go somewhere nice for this special date night. We landed upon the MC Restaurant.

We didn’t have reservations, but when calling to see if they could squeeze us in, the manager James had answered. He was able to get us a nice table and seated quickly.

The place is inside of a historic home. The menu selection is incredible. Ranging from
sushi to noodle dishes to fish and the best Lamb you will ever have.

We started it off with some delicious oysters. And then split a Shrimp Pad Thai dish and the Lamb Shank.

Both were amazing but the Lamb Shank is so good. It is seriously the best Lamb dish I’ve ever had.

The service was top notch, great people, amazing food.

We would go back for sure.
