We ate dinner here last night. Overall it was a good experience. The food was good and affordable. A half rack of ribs was about $15 and came with string fries. I normally prefer thicker fries but these were still pretty good. My wife liked her food too and wants to go back.

From Texas. Thought we’d try it..big no from a Texas guy.beans are kinda strange. Cole slaw pass ate 2 of the ribs. To go order. People raved,I might be just blessed to be from Texas. But I’m beginning to think Yankees eat anything. Potato salad was good but wife informed me it wasn’t from there.

0 stars. Place is absolutely dog water. Waited 15 mins to get our drink orders. 1 hour and had to switch our food to go and took another hour for them to bag the food and give it to us. They switched servers 30 mins in because the other server “knew” the table. An absolute joke of an establishment.

I had the flatbed pizza with southern mac and cheese plus my husband’s mashed potatoes. So delicious. The waitress was very good at her job. They have a room in back for parties, rehearsal dinners, etc.

I’ve found the food to be greatly improved lately. We all ordered different things. The wraps were good, but a bit soggy unless you asked to have them pressed on the grill. I found the Mac and cheese to be slightly dried out. The wait staff is great and the atmosphere of the place is cozy and fun. They also have Keno. I have since tried again and I recommend the burgers and perch sandwich. The brisket green beans are great. Really good fries and tater tots.

Good bbq place. As a true Mid-Westerner, the Mac and cheese is less than to be desired. But the staff is awesome and the bbq is great.

This place was awesome. I would eat here again on my next trip. Or visit down or up this way.

Update December 2023: Date night here was nice and quiet. I miss the French onion soup. The menu gets smaller each time we visit. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as it makes it easier to choose your food. Yet, I miss the ones I liked. Despite that, we had an enjoyable meal. Starting with beer and the 3 dip appetizer, which includes buffalo chicken, spinach artichoke, and sausage with corn tortilla chips. They were all good. The spinach artichoke dip was more garlicky than last time. The Buffalo chicken was just right with flavor and heat. The sausage dip was thick and a bit difficult to get on a chip. The flavor was good, but it felt like it needed something… maybe smoking the sausage a bit first and possibly adding minced green bell pepper or sliced scallions? I think that would be amazing!
I had a salad with no cheese with ranch dressing and the bacon chicken ranch flatbread. My husband had his usual favorite 4 piece roasted chicken order with brisket green beans with an extra side added of tater tots. They had sweet bbq sauce at the table, and it was good on the chicken & drizzled on the flatbread. The two dessert choices were not enough to tempt us. We’d had the churros a few years back pre-pandemic but were not fond of them. Maybe we’ll give it another try next time. Everything we ordered was well prepared on this visit with yummy flavors. The server was attentive and very nice. This visit guaranteed another in the near future.

It’s a bit pricey like buffalo wild wings. My daughter & I had good service today from a nice young lady. She was prompt & and attentive, which I’m happy to finally experience at Carmies. The food was yummy as usual. I had decaf coffee, a starter of fried pickles w/horseradish based sauce, margarita flatbread, and a cup of French onion soup. Fried pickles were abundant & flavorful without being too salty. The sauce was a nice contrast. The flatbread could have benefited from the classic margarita topping – fresh basil – as it was on the blander side without it. All the toppings were fresh & good. Would have been over the top yummy with a balsamic reduction drizzle like I’ve had at other places! The soup was as yummy if a little heavy on the butter this time. But always my favorite there! I’d visit more than a few times a year if the prices were a bit lower. We always enjoy our visits, though!!

We drove an hour to go here. We should’ve done some research, but were wanting to try somewhere new. We did the Sunday buffet. The hostess was nice enough. She showed us to the buffet room. It was like a complimentary hotel breakfast set up. Everything was empty. There was literally no food.
It was at least an hour before their scheduled closing time. We ended up at the Asian buffet. Lesson learned
