I just tried the restaurant this morning and loved it! I came in for a carry out order in which the hostess was super nice and patient while I created an order.
The food was hot, and omg you have no idea what a huge plus it is to find authentic Greek cuisine, the food was phenomenally delicious!
Highly recommend for those looking to switch up food options, as the meals are refreshing and not harsh on your gut if you have autoimmune conditions!

My wife and I were in Culpeper today to attend her uncles service at the Culpeper National Cemetary. After the service was looking for a place to eat. My wife and her uncle are Greek and I noticed this gem while looking through Google. We decided to go in his honor. Charlottesville has many Greek owned restaurants but our trip to Albanas was our first time at a place that served totally Greek cuisine. I can’t think of the right words to describe our experience that would do justice. I think I have found a new favorite restaurant. The food and atmosphere was so delightful and amazing. The food was so fresh and everything is made in house. The pita bread melted in your mouth and my wife and I ordered the Gyro and we both commented that as Gyro fans it was the very best we had the pleasure to sink our teeth into. We had a awesome Greek salad as well and the dressing was so flavor packed and refreshing. Can’t wait to make the trek back to Culpeper again soon to partake in this great establishment. We met Albana while we were there and she was very nice and you can tell she takes great care and pride in what she serves and the customer service from the other staff was supurb as well. This was also our first experience at a restaurant where a robot brings your food out to the table. I was very impressed with the people, food and atmosphere. Culpeper definitely has a little corner of Greece in its midst!

Albana’s Tavern is absolutely fantastic! Every dish was bursting with fresh flavor — perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared. The chicken was tender and delicious, the salad crisp and refreshing, and the tzatziki sauce and hummus were some of the best I’ve ever had. Even the cappuccino was spot on!
The restaurant is spotless, and the service couldn’t be better — warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. To top it all off, our food was delivered by the most adorable little robot, which made the whole experience even more fun.
This is our second visit. Albana’s Tavern is a true gem — delicious food, great atmosphere, and impeccable cleanliness. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing food! So delicious!! I haven’t had good Greek food since I lived in SC 13 years ago and this surpasses it by far! Albana was personable and made for a great first visit! We live one hour away and was passing through on our way home from a weekend in the mountains! We will definitely be making the drive whenever we have a craving for Greek!

For my fellow celiacs this place is a hidden gem. Their menu is not marked but the waitress took the time to walk me through my choices and assured me I would not need to worry about cross-contamination. They brought out table pita and tzatziki followed by tzatziki with cucumbers for me, without being asked. I got the dolma dinner with roasted Greek potatoes and a Greek side salad. Food was very delicious and service was great.

Everything I’ve tried here has been top drawer. I’m Greek so I’m pretty critical about Greek food. This place is a keeper.
9.7.2022. Stopped in for with one of my sons. First time for him and he was equally impressed. Had the Gyro sandwich and he said it was great. I had the special which was Kotopita. Chicken wrapped in filo with feta and other vegetables. Delicious.

We came on a busy Friday night and it took a long time to get our food…BUT there is a reason for that! The food is made by a Greek expert who puts her heart into each item! It’s all made from scratch and excellent! I got the greek salad and it was super fresh. My wife got the stuffed peppers. Also fantastic. Try this place if you haven’t! Those that have already know. Great job you guys!

We were driving through on a road trip and unexpectedly found this authentic, wonderful Greek food! Their use of spices and just the right amount of salt (not too much) made the food so flavorful. The chicken was tender and juicy, the green beans and potatoes perfect! This restaurant was even better than our favorite Greek of 30 years! And to top it off, our waitress was attentive and excellent!
