Epic Chophouse restaurant in Banner Elk offers the top dining experience and best mountain views in the High Country of North Carolina. We literally elevated food and drink in the Blue Ridge when we opened our Eagles Nest location at 4,300 feet elevation in 2025. Perched atop a knoll with panoramic vistas, our gorgeous mountain lodge setting has soaring ceilings, glass walls and striking art. Watch summer sunsets from covered decks complete with firepits. Open year-round, the bar and dining room with a massive stone fireplace are perfect places to gather with friends on winter days.
We are a private, membership restaurant located inside the gated luxury home community of Eagles Nest. Property owners are automatically members. In additio

We are out of town on our honeymoon from South Tampa and decided to come to this restaurant for Valentine’s Day dinner we had a 6:30 reservation we were made to wait over 15 minuets with a multitude of empty tables and they were doing a lot of talking and arguing over seating at the host stand, we were seated and our waitress was very nice however our meals were just sub par, our entree was served before the second course on the pre designed menu and it was well over a 2 hour dinner. For a restaurant that is of membership status I am not impressed. If they worried more about service and food than status I’d have a better review

wow! my girlfriend and I came here to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and this was the most personable experience ever. From calling to get a reservation the hostess, Madison, was very friendly and accommodating. As soon as we arrived for our reservation we were sat immediately and our server, Max, brought waters and cocktails instantly. The walnut old fashion was extremely smooth and enjoyable. My girlfriend had the cherry lemon drop martini and she said it was amazing! Then the manager, Al, brought us to the patio and took amazing photos of us with the mountain-scape in the back ground. we got seared ahi tuna for an appetizer and it was so good. we had the bone-in ribeye and filet for our entrees and they were cooked to perfection. we then got the chocolate and vanilla cake for dessert and it was spectacular in taste as well as presentation. we finished our night at the bar, my girlfriend raved about the salted caramel martini. Al the manager was extremely attentive to our table the whole night you could tell he cared when talking to us, and made sure our experience was everything fine-dining should be. It’s right in the name, this restaurant is epic! the best fine dining experience with the most amazing view. every staff member we encountered were all extremely friendly and professional. We will definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ EPIC really lives up to the name!
We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Epic in Eagle’s Nest (Banner Elk). Even though the sun had set about an hour before we arrived, the nighttime view alone was truly EPIC — peaceful, gorgeous, and the perfect backdrop for dinner.
Our servers, Don and Bonnie, were phenomenal. Their professionalism, timing, and genuine personalities made the entire experience feel special. They guided us through an incredible wine list (seriously one of the best I’ve seen), and their recommendations did not miss.
The Beef Wellington was exceptional — beautifully prepared, rich, tender, and worthy of the reputation this place carries.
From the atmosphere to the service to the food and wine, EPIC delivered on every level. Highly recommend this spot if you’re anywhere near Banner Elk. We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic dining, service, and atmosphere. Eagles Nest Epic Chop House is located in Banner Elk up in the Eagles Nest community. Andrew and Alvaro stopped by our table to introduce themselves as they were doing table to table. You have to be a member for this Epic location only.

In full transparency we are owners in Eagles Neat so we are a bit biased but that being said this place is just outstanding. The restaurant itself is beautiful with great appointments. The staff is very professional, attentive, and extremely friendly. They consistently go the extra mile to deliver great service. I apologize have not taken pictures which is unlike me. We have had the lobster bisque which I would put against any other restaurants. We also had the wedge which was fresh, crisp, and had plenty of the good stuff! We had the short ribs which had plenty of flavor and were of course fork tender. The mashed potatoes were great as well. I have to admit I am very picky about mashed potatoes and these were perfect. We also have had the filet and the ribeye. The steaks were cooked perfect and high quality. Personally I favored the ribeye. Great place and already thinking about going back!

We visited Epic Chophouse at Eagles Nest on Sunday evening of Labor Day Weekend around 7pm. Our family of five had a wonderful experience, even on what we were told was their busiest night since the opening not too longer ago!
View – 10/10
The setting is absolutely stunning. We’ve been staying at the Lodges at Eagles Nest since 2019, so it’s been incredible watching this area transform from untouched mountainside into a lively destination. It’s clear the restaurant is drawing guests not just from the community but also from Banner Elk and beyond – everyone around us was soaking in the views and having a great time.
Food – 10/10
Everything we tried was excellent. The kids enjoyed the steak and pasta with marinara, while we shared the wagyu steak appetizer, calamari bellissimo, bacon-wrapped scallops and green beans as a side. The Shrimp Manzetti Pasta was another standout. For dessert, our kiddos picked the six-layer chocolate cake along with ice cream – both were hits! We couldn’t finish the cake that night, but even the next day it was still delicious.
Service – 10/10
Our server, Bonnie, was outstanding! We were first seated outside, but when rain rolled in, she and the manager quickly moved us to a cozy table inside. Despite the kitchen being slammed that night, our meals came out promptly. We also appreciated the manager checking in with us twice during the evening – he was clearly working hard to keep everything running smoothly, and it showed.
Overall
A fantastic dining experience all around. We visit Eagles Nest several times each year in both summer and ski season, and Epic Chophouse will definitely remain a part of our visits moving forward.
