A coworker of mine has been raving about City Cakes for a while, and now I completely understand why. We ordered a vegan cake for our office holiday party to accommodate a team member with a dairy allergy, and I truly don’t have enough good things to say.

First, the staff. They are so kind, friendly, and accommodating. From start to finish, they made the process easy and enjoyable, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers.

Second, the variety and pricing. The selection is impressive, especially for gluten-free and vegan options, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and customization you’re getting.

The cake itself was adorable and absolutely delicious. We did a custom snowflake design (I wish I’d taken a better photo), and the flavor was incredible. It was a marble cake with a cream-cheese-style frosting and a custard filling. It was rich, balanced, and honestly one of the best vegan cakes I’ve had. Everyone in the office raved about it, and no one even realized it was vegan until we told them.

Before spending your money at a corporate bakery or grocery store, do yourself a favor and check out City Cakes and support a fantastic local small business. We’ll absolutely be back.

I’ve been ordering cakes from City Cakes for years and I love them so much! They are my go-to bakery for dairy-free desserts since everything is vegan! In the past, I’ve asked for designs like polka dots or flowers, and they always do a great job. For this order, I decided to spice things up a bit and asked for a succulent design on this birthday cake. They went above and beyond my expectations – I couldn’t even have imagined the cake looking so good! The succulents were so cute and detail-oriented. I love that I just gave them a description of the design I wanted and they created something amazing and beautiful!

This cake was chocolate cake with buttercream. The cake is so moist and the frosting doesn’t taste vegan.

The peanut butter bars and cupcakes are also to die for!

When I’m nearby, I like to stop by. The hours are great, the staff is always super friendly. I am gluten/dairy/egg free so the variety is super helpful for my needs there. They do make lots items that contain gluten (everything is vegan though), but they say they are very cognizant of preventing cross contamination.

Their desserts are always delicious, but I find, as with most vegan gf desserts you will find, they are fairly crumbly- except the cinnamon rolls, and they are quite chewy. I can’t claim to do better, thus my patronage… I love the scones, no matter the crumbly mess.

I do wish they had more gf whole grains though. I personally think they improve the flavor of things, especially breads. Their bread texture is fine, but I find the taste so missing that I would prefer not to eat bread at all than eat that. It’s not a cheap loaf of bread. After trying it as toast, a sandwich, and fried, I decided it wasn’t for me and tossed it. In case they see my opinion, my favorite gf bread that I make from home tastes like regular bread and is a yeast bread made from tapioca, millet, teff, and buckwheat flours, with psyllium husk binder. I would love it if they ever experiment with a loaf with less raise but more dark richness.

I made kind of a weird order and they followed it to a T not only that but the cookies and the cheesecake were great. Everyone and myself (a foodie who eats all kinds of foods) loved them. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t just giving people good for gluten free. These were just plain great.

We very recently had to go gluten-free because of my daughter’s celiacs’s diagnosis, so this is all very new and overwhelming. I went into the bakery needing some cupcakes for a family event. Beth was at the counter, and she was absolutely amazing! While I was there, someone texted me a food label to review; Beth came out from behind the counter to help me read the label. I will definitely be going back in the future, not just for these amazing looking cupcakes but because of the level of caring that I received as an overwhelmed parent.

If you are looking for gluten free items this is NOT the place. I bought several items cinnamon roll, muffin and rolls. The cinnamon roll and the rolls were not edible. Hard and no flavor. The muffin would be 4/10. Not worth your money.

Oh boy, one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. Our first time ordering with City Cakes was a couple years ago. We ordered a lemon raspberry cake for one of our vegan friends and I loved it so much, and I’m not even vegan. This year, we ordered the same cake flavor and it tasted great!

The service was also great as they designed the cake to a picture I sent in. The price was very reasonable as well. Thanks team!

I emailed a cake order online and they havent gotten back to me at all, I ordered it 3 days ago. I was going to wait till monday, but I think ill just go with a different bakery. Also i called on the phone for clarification on the order sheet, and they weren’t very polite. I told them “Hi, I was just wondering which cake flavors are gluten free?” They responded “what?” Then I said the same thing again and they said all of them, which i though perfect! So i said “sweet okay thats what i needed thank you!” Then there was silence… i said ” okay have a good day bye” and they respond with “mhm bye”. It wasnt rude it was just not what i wouldve expected. So my experience so far just made me not want to order a cake. So i wont! I wanted to try them out, but i just cant get over the unprofessionalism.

Lunch menu is okay, most of it is cold grab and go stuff. But their baked goods were delicious. Got the gluten free ginger softies and highly recommend. The staff were nice enough.
