First time coming here, I recently move in to Decatur and found this place.me and my boyfriend decided to come today and when we entered the restaurant the place was clean and a friendly girl showed us to our table and got chips and sauce and then we got our drinks and ordered our food..the food was delicious and tasty, I highly recommend this restaurant and definitely a good restaurant to try out if you’re in the area.

This was the worst dinner we’ve had! Nueva Era means New Era in English, but the only “New” here were Chicken Flautas I couldn’t even break when I tapped them hard with my fork, as I showed our server, I only ate half of 1, it cut my palate, the rice was nasty dry and orangish, also my borracho beans were bean juice, mostly liquid, my husband’s nachos were gross there was no melted cheese on them, it was a cheese sauce that was so thick it gagged, our server asked if I would like a asada quesadilla, I said ok, I gave my husband a piece (it was cut into 3 pieces) since he didn’t eat his nachos, I don’t know if they made the asada meat salty or only mine, so I didn’t finish it, neither did my husband his piece. I wish I would’ve taken my phone to the restroom, I’ve gone to cleaner ones in really rinky dink gas stations on our travels, it was horrible, and upon leaving I noticed the entrance dirty too! I should’ve known it would be disastrous

My wife and I recently moved to Decatur from Argyle TX. We have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant and it has not been easy until today. Amy was our waitress and was absolutely amazing; she was cheerful, kind, and did not make us wait on anything. The food was fantastic…why this restaurant only has 4 stars is beyond me. I had the Barria tacos which were fantastic, and my wife and daughter shared the fajitas which were also amazing. We have a 10 month old who can be rowdy and the staff was completely understanding and kind. Thank you to Amy (promote immediately), the staff, and the chefs for an awesome experience. If I had any improvements, having a better/spicy salsa. However, we will be back!

We tried this place because of all the great reviews and pictures of the food. I knew right away when I went to the women’s restroom to wash my hands that this was probably gonna be a bad experience. The water BARELY trickled out of the faucet, never got even slightly warm and you could tell someone filled the soap bottle with water because there was very little “soap” in it at all. I sure hope they have a better hand washing station in the back for the cook and wait staff . The waitress was very sweet and attentive and I know this is not her fault by all means so I give her a 5 star. The place overall just seemed dirty. My husband had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. He had to take the chicken out of the tortillas and eat it separately. He said the sauce tasted like something he had never had before and that was not a good thing. Chips and salsa were just ok. Charro beans were ok but nothing special. I had a flour beef taco a la carte (because of my first impression listed above). Ate half and decided it probably wasn’t safe to go on. I’m all about shopping local and I really wish I didn’t feel the need to post this but maybe the owner will read and take heart. I honestly do not know how this place has this rating on Facebook but don’t be fooled like we were. The food looks nothing like the pics. Oh!!!! I almost forgot…The $1.00 margarita special is “you get what you pay for FOR SURE…sugar water”

After reading the mixed reviews I decided to eat here however the food for me was mediocre..
Chips & salsa 2 out of 5 stars (oily chips and maybe old oil or old chips mixed in with new as they were dark and light colored.) Salsa was questionable but did have some good flavor to it.
I got the Cali Burrito ($12.99) large serving size however the flavor wasn’t all that good..just a bland burrito that lacked flavor. I was hoping from all the diverse ingredients within this burrito that it’d be tasty..French fries lacked flavor, definitely are just some basic frozen fries & weren’t crispy.
Maybe other dishes are better but my experience just wasn’t all that good
