I don’t say this lightly. These smoked wings are the BEST I’ve had in western NC. I love how they serve them dry and you add your own sauce. All three sauces were incredible & homemade. The wings had great smoke flavor and also had crispness. As far as the fried chicken, wow it was fried to order and came out piping hot. The batter was flavorful & meat was juicy. The banana pudding was great as well. We can’t wait to come back to try the brisket & pulled pork. Owners were very nice. Excited to have this bbq spot be back in business

Nice informal setting in one large room. It would be a perfect event space with the porches and lawns it has.
Our lunch of bbq sandwiches were full of tasty tender pork, served on large slices of toasted bread with slaw, pickles and a drink. The sides that were included were delicious: tasty collards and baked mac and cheese. I liked that we had a variety of sauces to add to the meat if we wanted. They had a case of delicious looking donuts and desserts.
The staff was friendly. There were clean restrooms and some outdoor seating with yard games to play.

My husband and I ate at Brevard’s Hickory House last night and loved it. I went because I heard about the fried chicken and it was excellent, crispy and flavorful. The food was really good and we sat outside which was peaceful. Also a good place for families and big groups! We met Josh the owner/chef and he was terrific, as were all the employees, very welcoming. And a big bonus… the homemade donuts! Oh My Gosh they were out of this world! We look forward to dining here again!

We enjoyed our lunches! Pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches. They came with pickles, a small coleslaw slaw, drink (water, tea or lemonade) and your choice of side. I think the self serve concept of drinks and condiments is cute and quite handy… we were able to get our sauces as needed with no waiting for service.

I think the prices are more than fair but I am not a fan of assumed tip amount added to my check.

Restaurant is large and roomy with more than enough parking.

Highly recommend! They’re a work in progress

I had the pulled pork sandwich at lunch. It was pretty dry but had a nice selection of sauces of moisten it up. Didn’t particularly care for the bread used. The cheese grits were blazing, and the extra mac and cheese was pretty good too. The food was a bit pricey, but what’s not in this economy (2025).

Took a while for our food to get to us. As far as I could tell, there were only two people working in the back the day we were there. The staff were very courteous.

As the owner of Brevard Hickory House, I built this place with one goal—serve incredible food to our community. We’re casual, but our meals are crafted by real chefs using fresh, locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients. Think quick service speed with restaurant-quality flavor.

We’ve got some exciting things coming—Sam’s delicious donuts, a coffee bar, and down the road, beer and wine. We’re also setting up for future events like movie nights, local artists, comedy shows, and live music.

Right now, it’s all about the food. Table service might come later, but for now you can grab your meal to take home or enjoy it here in our dining room. Either way, I promise—you’ll taste the difference.

Culinary betrayal of the highest order. I was craving smoky ribs and hearty beans, not a plate of reheated disappointments . It was not just a bad meal—it’s a letdown of the soul. The botched up a pulled pork plate with dried up scraps. The veggie plate was well reheated. Never Again I don’t expect them to be in business very long.

We did a Google search for restaurants and found Hickory House for dinner. Everyone had ordered different entrees and everything we had was DELICIOUS. HUGE fan of the donuts, gluten free ones were amazing! 100% recommend and we will come back next time we are in the area!

We were visiting from out of town and stopped to have dinner. The owner was getting ready to close and gladly stayed open for us and so friendly and personable.
Food was the best barbecue I’ve ever had. We even bought donuts for the next morning on return home to Kentucky.
