Another highlight was the reasonable pricing. Both the meals and the liquor were fairly priced compared to many other restaurants. Considering the quality and generous portions of the dishes, the value was excellent. Each dish we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, and the quantity was more than sufficient to share.
Lastly, the proximity to my home makes this restaurant even more appealing. Having a place nearby that offers good food, reasonable prices, and welcoming service is always a great find.
Now onto the food… I’ve had Jjajangbap before (highly recommend rice over noodles but it’s down to preference) but this was my first time trying tangsuyuk! The jjajang sauce was lovely– not too oily or heavy, not too much meat but a good amount still. It is sweet but that’s to be expected. It’s a really big portion as well! I paid $12.99 (overall price was $29.66) and I feel like I could get two meals out of this. I think if you ordered an extra rice then you could probably share. You get a good amount of danmuji & another side I’m not familiar with (some sort of pickled onion?) but it was such a good addition.
As for the tangsuyuk, it was pretty good and the portion size is very large for their small option. It took me awhile to drive to and from the restaurant so mine was a little soggy (not their fault) but still pretty good. The sauce leans more towards sweet than sour but it’s very addicting. They also give you a lot of the sauce compared to their dine-in portions it seems.
I can’t wait to return and try more items! 🙂
The crispy pork was very crispy. We liked that the sauce was served separately. The noodles were good, but they weren’t al dente enough for my liking.
Seafood stir fry was decent amount. I just didn’t like the rice underneath. I like my rice in a separate bowl. The corn starch sauce was a bit too thick and got cold quick with the air blowing. Taste was good. Not too salty. Price was a bit high. However, the variety of items in this dish is amazing. There were also little yellow ginkgo nuts in the dish as well as sea urchin, squid, octopus, shitake mushrooms, bamboo, etc.
Overall, around $20 per person. Food quality and amount is good though. You also get a few basic complimentary Korean side dishes.
We would definitely come back for the seafood noodle soup. This place was way better than the Fung Mei down the street.
