I ate at spice village with family a few months ago, and it was great! So I decided to come back after the holidays by myself and order some takeout. Takeout food is always a little ‘worse’ than eating it fresh in-house, so that was expected. But there were a few things that I wanted to note now that I was eating with just me and my partner.

1. The veggie pakoras we ordered were mild (I have Minnesota white spice intolerance), but these pakoras definitely still have a bite of heat to them. Not enough to cause a massive issue – but if you can’t handle any spice, just be warned mild for those is still a little spicy.
2. This is one of the only Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the twin cities where rice and naan is not included with an entree. I ordered garlic naan, but thought we’d get regular naan and rice. We did not. So be warned of that as well, it’s not indicated on their website or online ordering.

All in all, the service was pretty good. Nothing out of this world, but I’d say meets expectations when ordering for pickup.

See below for my overall rating of food below!

Veggie Pakoras: 3/5 stars (aforementioned spice issue)
Afghani Chicken Bites: 4/5 stars
Murgh Malai Tikka: 4/5 stars (better in house, 5/5 when fresh)
Garlic naan: 5/5 stars

We had a wonderful lunch here with family today! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The biryani—especially the Nawabi Biryani—was awesome, and there are excellent options for both veg and non-veg lovers. We really appreciated that the menu offers something for everyone, whether you’re familiar with Indian cuisine or prefer milder, non-spicy dishes like chicken tikka masala.

What truly stood out was the service. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable—perfect for spending quality time over a great meal.

Visited this place on a friend’s recommendation and decided to stop by for dinner after picking up some groceries next door.

I started with the Rayalaseema Karam Dosa, which was beautifully done—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and paired with delicious accompaniments. The Street Gobi Noodles were ordered spicy; while the heat level was higher than I’d prefer, the dish itself was flavorful. The gobi was perfectly crispy and well‑spiced, and the noodles were soft and cooked well.

For takeout, I picked up the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani and Guthi Vankaya Curry. The curry leaned a bit oily but was still incredibly tasty. The biryani seemed to have a strong ghee flavor and less rice portion compared to chicken but still delicious.

The ambience is pleasant overall, though the booth seating feels too compact and a bit uncomfortable. Service was on the slower side but still acceptable.

Update on second visit:
Poori potato sabji – 4/10
Chicken majestic – 5/10
Podi Idly – 7.5/10
Andhra Chicken curry – 7/10
Garlic naan – 10/10
Rasmalai – not traditional flavor

The ambience is very pleasant, and the service was good. The staff were courteous and welcoming. We ordered the haleem .It wasn’t bad, but I feel it could have been prepared a little better. Overall, it was a nice experience. I would definitely like to visit again and try some other interesting dishes.

Went here recently with my husband’s family and was amazed at the high quality food and the service. Sometimes as a south Asian it’s hard to find good quality Indian / Pakistani food but at this restaurant, I felt like I was transported back to South Asia. Everything from the service to the way the food was served in little cooking trays was such a wonderful touch.

We tried the popcorn chicken, cauliflower dish, butter chicken, garlic naan, and biryani. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I couldn’t stop raving about the butter chicken and garlic naan.

The servings are on the smaller side but despite this, we still had a lot of leftovers. My family doesn’t eat much though so it was perfect for us.

The decor in the place is also very nice. I loved how they have sinks on the outside of the bathrooms to wash your hands. The bathroom is very spacious too – however, it was kind of wet on the ground near the toilet. It could be kept a bit cleaner.

Despite this, I had an overall great experience and will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know!

I’ve been to Spice Village a few times and they have consistently impressed me. Some of my favorites here are Indo-Chinese fried rice (I personally prefer street style over Szechuan), Gobi Manchurian, Goat curry and Afghan Chicken bites. I’ve also tried their south Indian breakfast buffet on Thursday nights and budget biriyani on Wednesdays and enjoyed it. They keep things interesting by adding weekday deals. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

My wife had the chicken Tikka masala and garlic Naan and said it was very flavorful. I had the butter chicken and butter Naan. For me, the butter chicken was the best I’ve had in MN! I hear there’s a lunch buffet on the weekends so I’ll need to come back and try it out. Friendly service and they had ice for our drinks which I find difficult to get at some other Indian restaurants.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family for dinner, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, making it a nice spot for a family meal. As this is a new restaurant, I was curious about the food and service, and I’m glad to say that both met expectations.
We ordered Butter Naan, Natu Kodi Pulao, Chicken Kothu Parotta, and Chicken Tikka Masala. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served at the right temperature. The Natu Kodi Pulao had an authentic taste with a balanced blend of spices, while the Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and paired well with the soft Butter Naan. The Chicken Kothu Parotta was filling and tasty, though slightly milder than I personally prefer. Overall, the dishes were enjoyable, and my family appreciated the variety we tried.
The restaurant also has a grocery store attached, which is very convenient. I purchased some mutton there, and it was good quality. Although I haven’t tried their buffet yet, I would like to on a future visit.
What impressed me most was the attentive service. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff checked in multiple times to see if we needed anything additional. When we requested extra raita, they provided it promptly. This level of care and attentiveness made our visit even more pleasant.
With good food, a clean environment, and attentive staff, this restaurant is a solid addition to the area. I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu.

Had a wonderful lunch here today! The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I really appreciated that the menu has options for both people who are very familiar with Indian cuisine and those who may be new to it and prefer milder, non-spicy flavors (e.g. chicken tikka masala).
What really stood out, though, was the service. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.

We loved this place! We ordered numerous items and absolutely enjoyed it all. We shared a couple of chicken dishes, the mutton special, paneer, a wonderful veggie mix and of course, the garlic naan (there were 5 of us). It was great! We definitely recommend it! My Nepali son-in-law said he enjoyed it very much and the dishes were definitely authentic!
