Stumbled into here on New Years Eve because the pasta place just on the corner was closed. Got seated immediately chose the bar just for fun. The service was good nothing to complain about and the food was great too! That jalapeño roll was NO joke about how hot it was going to be and it was perfecccttt. The atmosphere was really what got me. Not just the decor but the upstairs DJ that started at 10pm turned on the disco ball and played oldies it was amazing! Got the large sapparro and the lychee sour and it was perfect. Definitely coming back to being more friends <3

We fancied some sushi and my friend had already been here before and liked it. We were thoughtfully given a table inside and proceeded to browse through the huge menu. Even the sushi menu was big and informative. So many choices, so many temptations.

My Dragon Roll was a satisfying combination of smooth and slightly crispy textures, savoury and slightly sweet flavours. The Blue Crab Roll also contained avocado, cucumber, and a dash of mayo – still really good but pipped at the post by the Dragon Roll. My friend enjoyed her Spicy Tuna Roll and the assorted sushi pieces.

Service was thoughtful when available but a little patchy. The woody decor transported us to a little part of Japan, cozy and functional. The overall experience was positive and aligned with the good ratings here.

I have a soft spot for classic Japanese restaurants that have Yakitori as they remind me of a childhood restaurant. Sake House Miro was a recommendation from good friends who moved to LA so naturally we came to try it!

The Yakitori we ordered was all delicious. Favorite was probably the salmon belly skewers: fatty and satisfying!

Their version of curry was good, darker curry with light sweet flavor rather than with any heat. We had a bottle of sake which was also fine.

The staff all seemed friendly and very helpful.

All in all really good. Will visit again!

I had the hand roll special came with 1 ca / 1 salmon / one shrimp tempura / spicy tuna. Side of salad and miso soup. The rice is well seasoned and the rolls are just well made. Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. My host sayaka and vicky definitely set the mood with their smiles and vibrant vibes. If you are around the area stop on by they will welcome you gracefully.

The portions here are ridiculously small. We ordered 2 dishes just as a light snack but they were so small. See images for the ridiculous size of this. We got the mini Ikura Bowl ($8) and the salmon yuzu ($13) and the portion was literally 1/4 of an appetizer. With the amount of money you are paying and portion size that you receive, expect to spend literally $40-$50 a person to be full which literally goes against the entire spirit of izakaya which should be cheap affordable bar food. Yes, I understand “American” izakaya is more inflated but this is straight highway robbery. I cannot emphasize how tiny the portions are; look at other picturea. Would not recommend this place unless you’re ready to pay fine dining prices for izakaya food.

We loved this place. Everything about it was an amazing experience. The staff was very entertaining, the food was incredible, their sake varieties were amazing and just the entire atmosphere made us feel like home. If you have been to Japan you have to come here. It is an authentic restaurant that will definitely feel your belly and make you want to come back.

The fish swims onto your plate just moments before being served to you. The freshest ingredients prepared in authentic style to perfection. We just found Japan in our backyard. Everything from the lanterns hung above, to the wood planks we walked above transported us to the land of the rising sun.

We ordered the zucchini roll, avocado roll, tuna roll, Godzilla Roll, and pork gyoza. All of it was phenomenal and would highly recommend. The Oolong tea served from a can imported from Japan, was extremely refreshing and delicious.

Service was attentive and detailed, the best of the best at welcoming guests and showing them to a splendid dining experience.

The second we left we talked about when we are coming back because this is our new favorite restaurant.

Went looking for sushi at 11pm on a thursday night. Found this very small place. Sashimi quality was good. The yellowtail sashimi portion was a decent size serving. Too many places slice everything super thin nowadays to save $. Enjoyed the Agedashi Tofu. The beef skewer was too tough to eat. The only let down. But i will return.
