Lousy service and a one-hour wait for two hamburgers ruined what should have been a nice meal for my son and I in a beautiful building with such rich history. One of the Wagyu burgers we ordered medium-rare was served to us as disgusting heap of barely browned raw meat.
They did comp us the meal, but only after we asked the server to bring over the manager to see the meal they tried to serve us.

I am very excited to experience happy hour here! We meet bff and her hubby and the experience begins! Yay! Out of the ordinary I order a Moscow mule which I haven’t had in probably a decade (no eye rolling please ). MacKenzie is our server and bartender. She is timely and the Moscow mule is absolutely the right amount of lime (no pucker) and ginger beer! She is also spot on asking what kind of vodka I like!!! Hubby and bff hubby order a draft beer . Ok, here we go. Seriously, buckle up. It’s happy hour, and so bff orders the vegan wings after a litany of questions, which I don’t disagree with. Cauliflower wings? WHAT? But! They’re DELICIOUS! TASTE LIKE CHICKEN I order the onion rings (no horseradish nor horseradish sauce like free state) and the cauliflower bites. Hubby orders the Flatbread pepperoni pizza. Food arrives TEPID. I loathe tepid. The cauliflower bites are okay. It’s alot of breading until I find a black hair embedded in my next bite. BLECH! The rest of the meal begins to unwind. Hubby’s pizza is ok although he wipes the grease away. The onion rings are so beautifully presented (like all the food) it almost made me forget about the black hair in my food. Our server didn’t charge us for hair in the food and she was an absolute delight and fabulous server and bartender. The bathrooms are extremely beautiful and “extra”. Super clean and what you’d experience in a country club. I’m really grossed out by the hair in my food and wish food had arrived more than tepid. MacKenzie gets a 10 as she was spot on and fixed stuff that was woefully wrong out of the kitchen. I find it very concerning no manager addressed the hair in the food situation. We won’t be back.

Came here for a meeting over brunch. The room was quiet and good for a meeting.
The food was average. Unfortunately there were a lot of small details that missed the mark: greasy salt and pepper shakers, cold eggs, servers auctioning food when it arrived. The condiments and coffee come in very small containers, so it would have went a long way to leave some extra coffee on the table. The fruit garnish should have been left off the plates: instead, we got brown pineapple and dry melon.
There are just so many better options within walking distance.

Stopped in for a social with some colleagues. The have a bunch of doorways that look like you can enter through them, but they are all non-functional except for one. Once you find the right door, you’ll be in a very nice looking little restaurant with a small bar. We were hanging out at the bar. The service was great. We got to enjoy watching an excellent bartender making artisan drinks all night, and some of us indulged ourselves. The atmosphere was great. The noise volume was very low, making it easy to have conversations. The prices were on the high side, but everything was so good, I can’t really complain about the price. Really great experience.

Today I have the shepherd’s pie special for lunch and it was delicious. I especially liked the fresh ground lamb, fresh ingredients, attentive service, nice atmosphere. I if you haven’t been for a while I’d highly recommend trying the holiday mules and specials created by Chef Mark, and recommend reservations for groups. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve greatly enjoyed every meal that I’ve had these last few months. Well worth the trip!

This was my go-to date night spot until recently. It appears that there is a new chef who has made some less than stellar menu changes. The new options have replaced some of the best meals I’ve ever had and are not impressive. The pasta I had was bland and the presentation was sad. My dining partner felt the same way about the meal he ordered. It’s a beautiful restaurant and my only complaints about the atmosphere is that they would benefit from some sound dampening. If it’s even half busy it’s difficult to have a conversation. The noise is very uncomfortable when the dining room is full. I’ve been brought the wrong cocktail on at least two occasions. But other than that, service is great and I understand that mistakes happen.

Historic hotel in downtown Lawrence. The atmosphere is great. Excellent food and staff friendly service. A grill room and adjacent more quiet formal dining available. Street parking can be challenging and perhaps the only real negative element of this location.

The bar might take a bit to get your drink but they offer a fun variety of cocktails in town.
Thursday night is half off night and it will be busy. Expect a wait or to be standing at the bar if you don’t have a server.
By my last count, Limestone was serving the best hand crafted cocktails downtown.
This is a historic spot, surviving an ol raid. Good setting for a drink and even TVs for sports. Good food.

Food is excellent. Might have been the most perfectly cooked fries I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp. Service was a little slow, but I think the waitress was in training still.
