We stopped here for a quick lunch and we were very impressed. I had the coconut chicken curry (mild) and my husband had the Biryani and rice with goat and it was so delicious. He chose medium heat as he really likes spicy food and it was perfect… spicy but not too much to enjoy the other flavors. We really enjoyed the samosas with the amazing mint sauce. The portions were huge and were perfect for the price. We will definitely be back.
Our server was amazing too. I noticed she was in the back awhile while our food was being prepped and I asked if she had prepped it. She did not say she had cooked it, but she explained the chef had stepped out for just a brief moment so if anything wasn’t right to just let her know. Well, it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten so it is very evident they have a very good team and very humble, as she would never have let me know she was helping in back too if I had not asked.
I highly recommend this place.

Stopped here with my family on a whim on our way through Alexandria. Before we even got out of our car, someone else stopped his car next to us to ask if the food was any good! We told him there are a lot of favorable reviews online and to wish us luck, as it was our first time eating here. Sir, if you’re reading this: Royal Indian Bistro is fantastic! We tried a selection of dishes: samosas, butter chicken, chicken 65, chili paneer, garlic cheese naan, basmati rice, and French fries for the kids. Every. Single. Item was delicious. Prices were reasonable and the service was awesome. Parking was ample, probably because this place hasn’t been fully discovered yet, but it deserves to be packed . Fresh, spicy, affordable, delicious. A must-try if you haven’t been and a definite repeat for us next time we are in town!

We usually order vegetarian appetizers for takeout, and the samosa chaat is one of our regular picks. While the taste is decent, I’ve noticed a few concerns lately. The portion we received last week was noticeably smaller compared to what we used to get last year, and it seems like the quantity has been gradually decreasing over time. Also, cutlery is not provided with the order, which is inconvenient, and I feel that the pricing is on the higher side for what’s being offered.

Our first visit on opening day didn’t disappoint. Pretty large menu with lots of vegetarian options all reasonably priced. We had the cauliflower appetizer, Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken (didn’t get a pic), and Beet Root Dumplings in a curry type sauce. My personal favorite was the butter chicken that has more depth of flavor than anywhere else I’ve ever had it. Second favorite was the cauliflower appetizer.
Friendly service and very clean. We will be back for more!

First off, I would like say that the gentleman that seated us and waited on us was polite. There wasn’t any real interaction besides ordering, but he seemed nice.
The atmosphere was really cute. The place is small and well decorated.
We ordered the gobi manchurian and butter chicken as it was our first time at the restaurant and those are pretty safe bets. Unfortunately, the gamble didn’t pay off.
The gobi had so little cauliflower in it, and instead was like a fritter with cauliflower, carrot, and what I believe was green bell pepper.
The meat in the butter chicken seemed processed and like it may have been frozen and then added to the sauce. It was boneless, but there were pieces that were not able to be cut to eat.

I ordered Tikka Masala. It was seasoned and tasted great, however, clumped rice, providing no utensils for a to go order, and a high price of $24 is why I’m giving 3 stars.

My experience at Royal India was really off.
The staff was quite odd as they constantly asked me questions and invaded my personal space – asking me how everything thing was roughly 6 times throughout the meal – too many times.
The samosas were frozen when I got them which was a bummer cause they would have been good if it was cooked through.
The tikka masala was very tomato heavy and not creamy like a typical.
While I was eating my entree the chef from the kitchen came out and asked me to pay for the meal in cash or Venmo? So odd in general as no signs were posted, extra odd that it was in the middle of me eating.
Overall – off experience and will not be back.

The workers here are always the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They are good to their customers and their delivery drivers. Awesome nice people.
Now for the food, it use to be awesome, excellent flavor and value but unfortunately it seams everytime they change management the food quality dips and the prices goes up.

I have eaten here twice in two weeks! It is so delicious! I love the lime pepper chicken and their malai chicken! So so flavorful. The pesto naan is so good, too! The rice is light and fluffy. Everyone is so helpful. Definitely a favorite now!!!!
