5 stars to the girl working. She was super friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we got what we wanted. The donuts on the other hand have completely changed and I dont personal like them any more. They are now super thick and doughy. Im not sure why they changed from some of the best donuts in the US.

I recently visited the Donut Connection at 2315 1st Ave N, in Escanaba, MI. It was my first visit there and I ordered two donuts and a cup.of.coffee. The donuts were tasty and fresh. The coffee was nice and hot. When I visited, it appeared that they were still working on the interior. I had to take my order on the road but I hope next time I visit there, the interior is finished.

The donuts were great and they had a wide selection of donuts and muffins available that were made fresh. We got 6 donuts for $10, not a bad deal considering the size of their donuts. The service was friendly too.

Really great maple iced donut, and cream cheese. Top notch!
The cinnamon roll was great, but the frosting had a very bizarre taste. We took it off and put homemade frosting in its place to salvage the roll.
Otherwise, great service, fair prices, and excellent pastries!

My husband and I were on a road trip through the UP area and love trying different donut places and Donut Connection was our first donut stop on our trip.
Donut Connection is not the easiest place to find and is tucked away off the main streets in a very dated and uninviting shopping strip. The inside is reasonably sized but at the time we visited they had indoor seating closed so there is only access to the donut ordering area.
We arrived around 9:30 AM on a Saturday morning and there was one other patron who also arrived at the same time but by this time there was already a very small selection of donuts left. We didn’t have to wait long for service but the woman who helped us was not friendly.
We ordered four donuts, some with frosting and filling and they were all stacked into a single bag. As a former bakery employee, stacking frosted donuts is an absolute NO. Unless your customer is like throw them all in a bag, you absolutely never stack frosted donuts.
The donuts were mediocre at best. They weren’t bad but they also weren’t anything special or to write home about. They were also on the smaller side for the price.
We stopped at two other donut bakeries on this trip in Michigan and both were worlds better in taste, selection, ambiance, and staff friendliness. We won’t be returning to Donut Connection.

The donuts are absolutely amazing! I got the cinnamon twist and a chocolate angel, and they were both really soft and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area.
