Progress Coffee World is a spacious coffee shop with tons of seating, and it’s always buzzing with energy. I usually stop by in the mornings, and on weekends it can get absolutely packed — almost like a bar, but with the lively vibe of a coffeehouse. I love the atmosphere and the energy of the crowd. The coffee is amazing, and while I’ve never tried their alcoholic options, I’m sure I’ll be back to explore more. Solid 5 stars from me!

Fantastic! We come here often for brunch tacos offered by one of their outdoor food truck vendors. Plenty of outdoor seating in picnic style benches by the food trucks. They have a small playground area for kids. They also have a large covered outdoor patio as well as air conditioned indoor seating. Their drinks are great. We also came for cocktails and those were fantastic too. Highly recommend!

Progress Coffee + Bar in Buda has everything you need. It’s a great local spot with a good vibe. You can grab some caffeine, a beer, and visit food trucks all in one place. Lots of space to cool off indoors or lounge in their shaded porch area and enjoy some fresh air. There are large fans outside which is perfect for Texas weather. Good relaxed atmosphere to meet with friends, get some work done on your computer, or hang out with the whole family. There is a small playground onsite, so it’s definitely family friendly! The seating inside is super comfy with multiple couch options. It’s also very clean and there are lots of windows letting in natural sunlight. I’d recommend!

Perfect, off the beaten path coffee shop in Buda. Not too far from I-35 though.
Beer and full bar but I just had a perfect cappuccino.
Friendly service.
Plenty of room to work and visit. Nice outside area, but too hot this time.
Food trucks on the property but didn’t check them out this time.
This will be a frequent stop when passing through.

This has quickly become my favorite Buda spot. Toni, Johnny and Sushi take pride in making excellent cocktails and all the staff provide friendly and prompt service. The environment is consistently welcoming and clean. The three foods trucks offer variety and made-fresh meal options. Progress hosts a variety of events, from live music on their large outdoor deck, to experienced DJ’s on the indoor stage, and even small craft markets in the spacious outdoor area from time to time. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. When you do go… You’ll add it to your list of places to frequent. Wouldn’t change a thing about it

“Jade, Falon, and Tori were absolutely phenomenal today!!! From start to finish, their energy, positivity, and attentiveness were next-level. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and their teamwork was so impressive to watch. You can truly tell they care about what they do. They made the entire experience unforgettable. Huge shoutout to all three of them for being total rockstars!” Will be coming back more often because of them.

The seasonal pumpkin cajeta latte is incredible 10/10. We also got some tacos from the nearby food truck.

Be careful parking at Progress Coffee + Beer. The parking lot is not as well lit as it could be at night. Another customer hit my car, got out to look, and fled (hit and run). It was captured on my dash cam. When I came outside not long afterward, I saw the damage and walked back in to inform the business. I asked for help with the driver’s name, phone number if on file, and/or a clearer image of the driver, and/or video of them hitting my car. The owner immediately indicated willingness to help, but then slow walked the process and provided nothing. I am out of pocket for the damage to my car.

I gave the owner the exact time my car was hit. After promising to get back to me the next day, the owner only got back to me 4 days later after I asked a couple more times, and acted unhelpful and disingenuous. The owner ghosted after providing nothing except a couple still images from his high resolution security cameras to try to show me he wasn’t able to see his parking lot. I replied within 9 minutes with both a still image and video from my car of the driver walking past the security cameras to and from the bar area. The driver would have been captured clearly. The owner ghosted me and has not replied in 10 days. It makes me wonder about the relationship between the person who hit my car and the business. I do believe the business is partially to blame for having a poorly lit and monitored parking lot.

I have attached dashcam video to my review. Google reviews only allow videos under 30 seconds, so it has been edited for length. I do not like how Progress Coffee + Beer appears to protect a criminal. It was an experience that makes me question the ethics under which this business is run and I will not be returning.

Edit 1:
The owner replied to my review doubling down on his easily disproven claim that no video or information about this person exists, then apparently deleted his reply. I have added a photo collage of the person walking past their outside security camera, which was operating perfectly fine minutes after the driver walked past it multiple times according to the timestamp on the screenshot of the video the owner sent me.

UPDATE: 2/8/26: worst neighborhood business ever! Trying to enjoy a Sunday at home and all I can hear is the horrible music coming from their patio. They are so disrespectful!!!!

12/5/25 – Yes, I am back being with complaining about progress coffee bar or currently right now cantina. The music is loud. I can hear it in my house over the cars and they have done nothing that would even put them into a category of being a good neighbor and trying to rectify it.

11/15/2025 – yep, you guessed they are still the worst neighbors that anyone could have. More or less the worst neighborhood business anyone could have. They have a band playing to no one on the patio and it is so loud that when we called in a complaint the operator asked us to turn our music down. News flash that’s not our music. Tried to call the establishment to get them to. I don’t know, maybe acknowledge that they’re playing the music too loud and but as usual the call went to voicemail voicemail.

9/29/25 – trying to recover from being sick in my own home, but nope the wonderful Business neighbors Progress Coffee Nightclub have decided to continue being the worst neighbors ever! It’s almost as if there evening staff enjoys being jerks!

We’ve asked them to turn the music down, but they do not. Instead it sounds like they’re turning the music up and they leave the volume up. They will deny that they are playing the music loud which is funny because when their morning staff comes in and turns on the music, they acknowledge that the music is too loud. Yes, we’ve had to call them in the morning because the outside speakers are loud. No problems during the day, but at night it sounds like a wanna be honky-tonk playing not so good music. You either get DJ music or bands playing cover songs.

UPDATE: wishing I could unwind in my own home, but yet again we are bombarded with the cover band music coming from Progress Coffer Bar (no more like nightclub wanna be)! Their management team is unresponsive and unprofessional and their staff are rude and condescending.

In response to Progress Coffee Bar: My review was not about someone having a bad day, but then again your patron was kicked and then while on the ground was hit multiple times; which was witnessed and was why police were called. This is the second time that a fight has broken out at your establishment that has led to the police being called and persons being handcuffed and driven away. Could it be that your staff is over pouring or over serving? The safety of your patrons should be first and foremost on your minds. That safety should also include your neighbors. This is not a neighborhood for a nightclub, a bar or club, figure out what you want your business to be. Start being better neighbors.

UPDATE: 5/4/25– oh yay! Thanks for bringing the feel and look of a club to the neighborhood. It’s always nice when you can sit on your back porch and watch yet another fight break out at this lovely establishment.

2/28/25- same experience every Thursday through Sunday. Loud music, loud customers on the patio, employees that are rude to the sheriffs who go in to deal with the noise complaints and just in general the worst business neighbors ever!!! The owners are dismissive and trying to be more like an east Austin club than a coffee bar. Seriously considering taking this to the media.

12/1/24:Progess you are still the worst neighbors!!! So tired of having to call you on the daily to get you to turn the music down. My family would love to enjoy our backyard and hell even watching TV at home that doesn’t include hearing the music from your establishment!!!

UPDATE!! 2/22/24: Yep they still show no respect to their neighbors! The band they have playing sounds terrible. They are playing to an practically empty audience. Filing a complaint with county and thinking of suing under nuisance law. Anyone want to join?
2/1/24: They still show no respect to their neighbors! Worst neighborhood business. They don’t even serve their own food, they have a food truck onsite that isn’t even allowed to serve drinks- like water

2/20/26 I normally love this coffee shop and have always enjoyed the calm, welcoming atmosphere — especially during the mornings and daytime. It’s usually one of my favorite spots to relax or get some work done and I usually visit at least once a week.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. The employees behind the bar were taking shots and behaving very loudly and disruptively. It felt more like a late-night bar scene than a coffee shop, which made it uncomfortable and distracting for customers trying to enjoy their drinks.

Additionally, the cleaning staff was sweeping directly at our feet while we were seated, without acknowledging personal space. It created an awkward and uncomfortable situation that could have easily been avoided with a little more awareness.

I’m sharing this because this is not the experience I’ve come to expect here. I truly hope management addresses this, as I would love to continue supporting a place I’ve normally enjoyed so much.
