So I had been wondering about this place a couple of years . Finally I had a night i wanted something different. Placed my order i had good pound cake, shrimp was good, mac n cheese was good . Got to my fish and it was hair in the breading I realized this after it was in my mouth ,the sticky wings have no flavor they are sweet and sticky but nothing i recognize about the flavor. Service was fine . Stuff happens and I get that but it ruined it for me . This place has potential for sure .

I’d like to start off with saying, I must say that I am originally from further south than Delaware. That being said, other than my OWN cooking, L&G Soulfood has the trifecta. NOT ONLY, are the meats delicious, tender, flavorful BUT NOT EXTRA EXTRA SALTY! Care is also taken for the sides and sauces. Have you ever had a great sauce, but the meat wasn’t seasoned and the sides were mush. L&G Soulfood is one of a select few restaurantsin Delaware, that I have noticed recognize this. I REFUSE to eat/try EVER AGAIN! Any other restaurant’s collard greens, except L&Gs.

I was so disappointed with my visit to L&G soul food on 13-40 split.
TERRIBLE! Sweet potato’s was thrown into a container no seasoning but plenty of potato skins, I kid you not! The black eye peas and rice TERRIBLE,rice undercooked and peas taste like can…why why why do our home comfort foods go bad…
Also you could see the kitchen from the counter, the two employees didn’t look happy or into the chef energy, and just didn’t look cleanly

Fish fried to perfection. The best hush puppies I’ve ever had. Nice cake slices too. My fave soul food place. Only thing I would say is make sure they give you a fork cuz sometimes I wanna eat it fresh in the car but it’s usually so hot and delicious, I end up making a lil mess.

If I could give negative ratings this would definitely e the place. I’ve never and I mean never had food so horrible. The chicken was so bad we couldn’t even eat it. The collards looked like they had been out in a blender so I didn’t even taste them. We always try to support BOB and this was a complete disaster of a meal. I thought I’d give this place another shot from my horrible experience years ago. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!

I used to come here about once a week but I haven’t in months. I’d say for convenience regarding distance from my home it had value but the prices have gone up and portions are seemingly getting smaller which is despicable in my opinion. The food itself is ok but there are better opinions for sure. The service itself is always fast and staff are friendly.

Mac cheese does not taste home made. It taste like box Mac and cheese. Very cheaply made and not soulfood. Somebody else need to make it or don’t be cheap. Its not unreasonable if other restaurants can and the pricing is the same.

The food was phenomenal seasoned to perfection and the portions were hefty The prices were extremely reasonable for the amount of food we received absolutely putting this on my list of favorite places to eat. The staff was friendly and welcoming surprised I hadn’t found out about this little gem sooner
