I went here for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was spectacular. The calamari had a light batter, not overly thick breading. The Shirley Temple had a grenadine I had never tasted before, but it was not bad. The bread pudding was a little too thick compared to the cream ratio, but it was still excellent. This was my first time trying beef wellington, and it was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly, and they let me substitute the normal sides for the Thanksgiving sides. The stuffing was amazing, as were the brussels sprouts.

I came here for the first time to celebrate a special occasion and left extremely disappointed.

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The staff blamed it on others customers “camping out,” even though there were many empty tables when we were seated and the restaurant kept getting emptier throughout the night. It felt like a lack of accountability.

Service was slow and inattentive. It took a long time for anyone to take our drink and food order, water was never refilled, had to ask for it, and no one checked in until on our entree until we were almost done eating.

I ordered the $63 beef Wellington, which was the biggest letdown. Although it may look slightly pink in photos, it was not medium rare. It was fully cooked through, dry, and very chewy, similar to braised beef that has turned pink but is overcooked. The pastry was mushy and soggy. This is unacceptable at this price point.

The server also placed the dishes in front of the wrong person without asking, even though there were only two of us. When I asked about the doneness, I was told it is supposed to be medium rare, but then the issue was blamed on a large private party they had that night. They offered to remake it, which would have taken another 40 minutes, or a free dessert. A $13 dessert does not make up for a $63 failed entrée.

This was a special occasion, and the experience fell far short. I will not be returning 100%

The view and atmosphere was nice. The staffs were very friendly. Unfortunate that the Wellington was overcooked. I understand it’s hard to get Wellington right, but there should be no way medium rare comes out as well done, especially for the price. Gnocchi was also overcooked and bit mushy, but the sauce was fantastic. The soup was great too.

The Statehouse was great! I will say the atmosphere is a tad on the upscale side and I was definitely not dressed for the occasion. No worries though, I was still able to sit down and enjoy a great meal. I stated off with the Chicken Wings in the traditional buffalo sauce followed up with the Roasted Salmon. Yes, the salmon is half eaten, sometimes I just dig in before I remember to snap a few photos but the wings and salmon were good. The risotto was OK. I haven’t had much risotto and I’m beginning to think I’m not mush of a fan. I finished up my meal with the Autumn Cheesecake and I was expecting a little more from this dessert than I got. I guess I kept expecting pumpkin cheese cake due to the color but it’s definitely a much or mild and softer cheesecake than what I was expecting. Overall, I enjoyed The Statehouse and my meal.

We had brunch here today. The food was a 10 of 10. The atmosphere was quiet and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The way staff was very attentive. We were seated at a table looking out at the frozen lake. We were thrilled to watch people out on the ice, flying kites, walking, riding 4 wheels. A first hand winter weather experience while seated inside, soaking up the good good and sunshine.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE HUNGRY. My family and I went here this past weekend for my birthday, the food itself was good, don’t get me wrong, but the beef Wellington for $67 dollars, you do not get enough food at all to fill yourself. My fiancé got the gnocchi for about $37 dollars and got maybe 5 dumplings. The food itself has a great flavor, but value for money? Absolutely not. Not to add the 19 dollar margarita I had, which was maybe 3 ounces at best of liquid. We went for dinner, and ended up going to a local bar afterwords to eat more food, so that we weren’t starving.

The scramble with added sausage was delicious. Wonderful service and staff. I didn’t get pictures of the cheese curds or the club sandwich with truffle fries – all were superb.

We reserved a table in advance to be seated next to the window. The place is nice, the waiter was a bit disorganized, once forgot our order, then brought us something else instead. The food was okay, the mashed potatoes and the steak were the best. The rest did not really stand out, but in general we had a good time.
