Alright Food Reviews
This place is great. It’s been on my list for a while and I finally made it in. The service was great and super helpful. I went with the machete, which was my first time trying it, and I walked away impressed. It was really good, and I think the carnitas is the way to go. There are so many other things I want to try on the menu that I’ll definitely be back.

I wanted some good birria and this is where I found it. The consomme has a great flavor and is loaded with onion and cilantro. I love that both the green and red salsas actually have a good level of spice to them, especially the red. Most places have very mild salsas. The woman working the counter was super sweet and let me try some different drinks they had. Loved the food and will definitely be back.

What a terrific place! Tucked away in a strip mall near the GE plant, this little restaurant is quietly putting out some of he best food I’ve ever had.
I came to try the machete, having seen pictures in a local foodie group, and it lived up to the hype. It’s a huge soft flatbread folded over a filling of cheese and onion and your choice of meats (I chose delicious pastor pork). Every bite was full of flavor, which was even better with a generous dab of their wonderful smoky hot red sauce.
The service was quick and friendly and it’s plain the server is passionate about the food. He explained that the menu is consciously designed to offer authentic Mexican regional dishes and not just the same dozen things every Tex-Mex joint offers.
The machete and a delicious jarrito and tip came to $25, which is more than I usually spend for lunch, but I ended up with enough leftovers for a whole other meal, so I think that’s quite fair for the quantity and quality of food on offer. They do have a normal lunch menu of more modest proportions, and I’ll probably investigate that next time. I’ll definitely be back for Taco Tuesday!

For a small business this place was actually really delicious, for me! it was completely empty when we arrived it was about 3:00 p.m. absolutely no one there but the food was brought out presentable, fresh and warm!! My husband got the tacos & to be honest he wasn’t very pleased with the flavor. He mentioned he had had better tacos at other restaurants! The price for the tacos was not worth it because it only had one tortilla and not enough meat. But on my behalf I thought the sope was really good it was actually triple the size as you will get it anywhere else and the shrimp cocktail was on point not too bitter, but I did notice the shrimps were not as fresh as I would have expected. Other than that I will rate this place a 4 star because my husband wasn’t very pleased with HIS meal.

We celebrated the restaurants 2nd year anniversary and we were not disappointed! We even won a lucky prize!! It’s worth mentioning that the food is highly underrated. Plus the service is exceptional. Felt like they became my family and I was at my own uncles restaurant. That’s how great the atmosphere is. Give them a try!!

If you’re an OG from Okolona or Highview, then you know this to be the same location of Villa Romano from way back.
This is is a small and nice Mexican restaurant with a great menu variety. The menu is in Spanish but understandable with basic information. We had great and friendly service. Like in many countries, they don’t serve tap water. They do serve complimentary warm chips and a tasty bean dip. We ordered the guacamole and it was very fresh and chunky. It was gone before I could snap a photo.
My husband got the huarache – big enough to share. My poblano relleno was fantastic. It came with rice and beans and the batter was eggy and good. It also was served with HANDMADE tortillas. Such an unexpected treat!
There is a very spicy green salsa and a medium smoky red salsa that they also bring to the table.
I can’t wait to go back and try something else.

Some of the best authentic Mexican street food I’ve had in KY. Not just your typical beef, pork, and chicken and the staff were wonderful taking the time to explain the menu. The pineapple water and rice water were also great!

I have been wanting to try this place out, and am so glad I did. I was a little nervous at first as the menu is mostly in spanish and I wasnt sure about everything, but the guy helping us (I so wish I would have gotten his name) was So helpful and SO friendly. He explained everything and answered all my questions and made great suggestions. Almost everything is made to order and SO delicious. The guacamole was SO good! The dish I tried – the machete was HUGE and fantastic. They bring out a bean dip with the chips that I thought my son was going to lick the bowl. The are very accommodating to requests for picky eaters as well;) we will definitely be back!!

So much variety of authentic Mexican food on the menu. They gave us tortilla chips… with refried beans for starters! Usually it’s chips with salsa. I thought this was unique. The refried beans were so good….We had too much before we got our food.
My fiance and I had a gordita with chicken, huaraches with beef steak, and camarones diablo, which was sooo spicy yet delicious. Highly recommended.

My wife and I came here to get a quick lunch before getting back on the road. The staff met us immediately and was very friendly. We asked for his recommendations and they were amazing. Would recommend to ANYONE who is looking for a good, well priced, authentic restaurant.
