I hate to have to leave such a poor review as I’ve heard it hyped u only whole life but my experience didn’t live up to that. I came in at 11:45 right before lunch time and the restaurant was relatively empty when I entered but filled up as I ate. I ordered pulled pork, Texas toast, baked beans, and coleslaw; as well a dime of each sauce they offer. I’ll start with the sauces, the only one worth getting is the white sauce which was a very good example of such. The rest while well made were all far far too vinegary to do anything but drown out the flavor of the the meat. The sweet bbq sauce was tolerable at best though. (All sauces were tried alone and with the pulled pork) speaking of the pulled pork, it came out and while clearly well cooked and well pulled it was ice cold with virtually no taste. The baked beans were also cold and very thick but they were likely the best thing on my tray. The coleslaw was well made and tasted fine but that’s a matter of personal preference as I prefer a sweeter coleslaw. The “toast” was onto toasted in one side and had very little butter or good toasted color and also tasted of nothing. The vibes in side were very good and my service was wonderful but the food didn’t back that up.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The brisket was phenomenal—tender, juicy, and packed with rich smoky flavor that clearly comes from someone who knows barbecue inside and out. The Brunswick stew was just as impressive, hearty and perfectly balanced, easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere in Georgia.
What truly set this place apart, though, was the service. It was genuinely out of this world—friendly, attentive, and welcoming without feeling rushed. You can tell they care just as much about their customers as they do their food.
Satterfield’s is the kind of place that makes you plan your next visit before you even leave. If you’re anywhere near Macon and love great barbecue with exceptional service, this is a must-stop.

A perfect lunch as I started some sightseeing in Macon, I arrived on Sunday afternoon to a half-full restaurant. The friendly waitress took my order and a few minutes later, a barbecue salad arrived at my table. A nice base of fresh spring mix topped by chopped brisket, a boiled egg and some pickled onions. Nicely presented and delicious.
Feeling stuffed but not like I needed a nap, this was great.

I travel just about every week thru out the Southeast and often get to experience tasty bbq. I just had the best tasting brisket as of today, after one bite I had to stop eating and take a couple photos and savor the incredible feeling. If your in Macon GA I urge you to experience their brisket. They were almost out of the lean so I chose the mix, it was very tender, and moist yet not crumbling. A very easy pull, I didn’t try the fat. It had an incredible pepper bark to it just like most are prepared in TX, yet the middle was dang near perfect pink.
The sauces were also very tasty, I recommend the spicey and the mustard based sauce for sure. The mustard sauce is tangy yet smooth a hint of pepper and seemed just a punch of smokey. The spicey an overall tangy sauce with a mellow kick not hot but not sweet.
Sorry for the bite out of the sandwich, I don’t like seeing it myself however this was so good I just had to share my experience.

How do I even begin to explain how delicious this was?! The mac n cheese, phenomenal. The Brunswick stew, delicious. The vinegar slaw, outstanding. The brisket… juicy, tender, moist, fantastic, I could go on and on. The sauces, awesome. They put a lot of care into their food. I could tell they all loved to be there. Only complaint? It’s so far away from me and they post their food daily in their Facebook and I can’t have it. But I will be back when passing through.

We love this little place! Pulled pork is HIGHLY recommended! It’s juicy, tender and tasty. I love that they seasoned the meat just right and let you pour the sauce as you like.
Our favorite sides are fried Mac n cheese and stew. Perfectly seasoned and full of flavor.
The only thing I can add is that I wish they have a real spicy sauce. This is so far our favorite barbecue place in Macon.

I’ve been a certified BBQ judge for over 20 years. This was probably the best pulled pork I’ve ever had. The baked beans were only second to Myron nixon’s. Very good brisket and brunswick stew. Great customer service. My son changed his mind and wanted a drink. They wouldn’t take money for the additional drink and even offered him a refill which he didn’t take.. great food nice people. Must return

Great, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. Their smoked burger (the cowboy killer) was so good!!! Definitely want to come back and try the rest of their BBQ options.
