Rocas is one of my go-to spots when I’m craving Mexican food, and the quality never disappoints. The chips, like in the picture, are always fresh, crispy, and served warm, making them the perfect start to any meal. Their beef enchiladas and refried beans are the bomb: full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and consistently satisfying.

The only hiccup I’ve experienced is that in the two times I’ve been to Rocas, my order hasn’t been quite right at first. That said, the staff is always quick to fix it once I let them know, and they do so with a friendly attitude. It’s clear they care about making things right, which keeps the experience positive even when mistakes happen.

Overall, Rocas is worth coming back to again and again. The food is flavorful and well-prepared, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service, while not perfect, is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure you leave happy. For me, that makes it easy to overlook the occasional mix-up and enjoy the delicious meal that follows.

Just feel like the price standpoint and the portions aren’t there . Menus kinda boring too
Most expensive Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to

Looked like a fancy Mexican restaurant from the outside and smelled good. The white sauce with the chip reminded me of a yum yum sauce from a Asian restaurant. The red salsa was nice. I got the enchiladas Supreme, way to much food more me and very cheesy. Next time I’d hold the cheese. Overall the service was good and friendly. Wish I would have went to the fajitas.

Food came out hot and fresh. The waitress Maya was phenomenal. She checked on us several times to see if we needed anything and was right on time with everything she answered any questions we had in regards to the menu. I definitely recommended asking for Maya.

A truly terrific gem; great food, prices, and service.

Review based on two dining experiences to ensure we experienced what this restaurant has to offer. Baffled as to why some have rated this restaurant as less than ideal.

First visit was on a Friday at 6 pm, we almost left upon entering the parking lot… it was packed and the parking lot is huge. We ordered an appetizer, con todo. It came out quickly and it was extremely satisfying. Good flavors and good portions for the price point. For entrees we got two different fajitas, altos and the seafood fajita (don’t recall name of the dish). For the amount of food, both fajitas were amazing price wise; both were around 20 but I’d be happy paying 30 for either. Amazing flavors, the seafood one is a home run. Super great. Best part was that they tasted completely different and the taste difference wasn’t just due to the protein. Highly recommend the seafood fajita, a true gem. Highlight was that all the food came out hot and fast, a feat we didn’t expect with the extremely full parking lot.

Second visit was on a Friday, around 130pm. We ordered flautas, supreme enchiladas, fried chimichangas, and pollo yucatan. All the food came out hot and fast. No complaints about the food, it was all great. Biggest favorite, for us, was the chimichangas.

On both visits we truly enjoyed the chips and dip. The white dip is really good. The salsa is obviously homemade and is really great, fresh and refreshing. I’m a fan of stupid hot stuff and the house made hot salsa is amazing, it is more than just hot; it is extremely flavorful. Request it for sure if you like habanero or hotter, it won’t disappoint. If jalapeños are as hot as you like, you probably won’t enjoy it due to the heat it brings.

On a side note, I left my credit card at the restaurant. Two employees came out right away to let me know of my error, I unfortunately failed to realize they were looking for me. Came back a few hours later once I realized, quickly got my card back and of course, no extra charges were made to my card.

Great restaurant, probably the best Mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at after traveling through a majority of the US.

I really enjoyed my visit to Rocas Mexican Grill. The chips and salsa they brought out right away were fresh and flavorful, some of the best l’ve had in a while. Our meals came out quickly, tasted great, and the portions were big enough to take some home. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the atmosphere had a nice balance of lively but still comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m craving Mexican food in Charleston.

My wife’s chemistry were the size of a tamale. Very small and little filling. She gets them everywhere she goes and these were by far the worse.
There was zero atmosphere. Service ok, nothing to brag about . Seemed a hurry to get rid of us. Place was almost empty even though it was dinner rush.
My Fajitas had good flavor and cooked well . Small wraps compared to other restaurants. So you have to ask for more at $2.70 . Chips were a basket of crumbles.
There are plenty of other Mexican places to eat without going here.
Wish we had gone to Taco Bell . Very disappointed.
PS. Mexican is my wife’s favorite food.

We really enjoy this restaurant and have ordered takeout from here many times. Everything we have tried has been good, and we especially love their flan.

Recently, though, we have noticed a few issues with our to-go orders. Sometimes an appetizer or a sauce gets left out. Most recently, the Camarones Locos came without the rice or the cheese sauce, which meant half of the dish was missing. We tried calling several times to let them know, but the phone stayed busy the whole time, so we were not able to reach anyone.

We are mentioning this because we really do like this place and want to keep supporting them. A quick double check on takeout orders before they go out would really help, because the food itself is great and we want it to stay that way.

This man just illegally barred us from entering with my service dog asking for an ID.. they do not exist except fakes people buy on Amazon. My dog is clearly trained and badged and this guy tries making us stand around while he supposedly calls the Health Department for guidance?? Illegal. Learn the facts.

Best Mexican restaurant I’ve been too. It is the cleanest first of all of any I’ve been in. The service is fast and the food is delicious. But what really sold me to write a review was when I wasn’t feeling well I ordered their soup…and I’m telling you, if you’re a soup person it is a must! I love it, not some microwaved bowl of cheese like you’d get anywhere else, delicious fresh ingredients!
