I feel awful writing this because I think they are trying and the server was nice.
But I relied on these reviews when picking a place for a family meal on Chinese New Year, and my wife and I were looking forward to it, but unfortunately it was just such a let-down. I’m embarrassed that it was my suggestion. So I hope this will help someone else.
1. The bathroom wasn’t clean. We were the first people there when it opened and there was no toilet paper, so I don’t think it had been cleaned since the night before.
2. If the lunch special isn’t available on weekends, the menu should say this.
3. Our entrees took 1-1.5 hours to come out, staggered. I was finished with mine before my wife’s even came out.
4. About the above entree.. I ate it as soon as it came because I didn’t want it to get cold, but it didn’t really matter. The chicken was room temperature when it was served.
I hope this was just an off day. But if it was, it’s a real bummer that it was our first and last time trying Hanami. I think there’s potential. Please do better.

Picked up the sushi platter E to feed three people, could have fed 4 to 5. Added a few extras With tip still came in at under $200. The sushi and sides were great, Selection was good. Friendly service, highly recommend.

Amazing, above and beyond service. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sushi was super fresh and all of our entrees (some hibachi some others) were delicious. Will continue to recommend this place, especially if celebrating, which they graced us with a candle. 10/10

It was phenomenal. My family and I came for my 16th birthday dinner, so they gave me a free fried ice cream after everything. The food was fantastic and I can’t wait to go there again. Had a bariatric handicapped family member, and the waiter helped wonderfully and was very kind. The waiter checked in on us often, and even showed us how to properly open the Japanese fun soda (it meant it when they called it fun), and cleared our dishes frequently. The food was absolutely delicious. Just a tip, the meals are very large and filling, so we had leftovers to take home. Everything was delicious and very well priced. The fried rice was mind-blowing. I was surprised that I was able to finish my fried ice cream, it was so large, but surprisingly tasty. I got more food for a lower price than the local grill by where I live. Definitely worth the trip, 10/10 recommended.

My 2nd and 3rd time there was just as great as the 1st. Staff is so nice (especially Lilly)and the food/sushi is amazing! Best in Middletown! Best i have had in the US since i moved here 9 years ago. And they were even be able to accommodate my friend who has gluten intolerance with gluten free (and reduced sodium!) soy sauce.
Dont forget to have a Sake Bomb!

I fell in love with this place a year ago on travel, and I’m back again and it’s better than ever. They are so nice and accommodating, and the sushi is some of the best I’ve had in all my travels. HIGHLY recommend Hanami if you’re anywhere near it. Volcano Roll and Fatty Salmon Sashimi are some of my favorites.
