Recommend…We ate here months ago and the food was very good. We had the schnitzel with an over abundance of potatoes. The cucumber salad was not quite as tasty as it could have been, tasted more watery but still good. If you love German food try this place

Delicious German food served by a wonderful staff. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. The Augsburg special is my favorite and it’s always made perfectly. The sauerkraut is delicious and compliments the schnitzel perfectly. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.

This place could easily be 5 stars, my entree was incredible and who doesn’t love a boot of beer. The problem is, this place had no life. If there was German music playing or something, it was just quiet which is not what I was expecting. The food is so good, I still recommend checking it out and trying the Gypsy Schnitzel.

This experience was astronomically disappointing. The lady working there was very kind but the food was a negative 10. I absolutely LOVE German food, but this was the worst German food I have ever eaten. My husbands bratwurst was under cooked and flavorless and the mashed potatoes and gravy had no flavor whatsoever either. I got the goulash. The menu says they make their spätzle homemade but it WAS NOT. The spätzle tasted like they went out and bought the cheapest can of spätzle they could find and warmed it for way too long in the microwave. The “sirloin tips” were flavorless and way over cooked. We left the restaurant with full plates still sitting on the table. We will not be back. Augsburg Haus was a complete and total waste of $60.

Went to Augsburg Haus for supper with coworkers. The food was not only great but generous portions. The service was very good as well as made you feel welcome. We were a group of 8, and every need was met. I lived in Karlsruhe Germany for almost 4 years, so when I say this is good German food, you know I have a good comparison. Give them a try. You will not regret it!

Food is top-tier delicious and believe me, you get bang for your buck… add some great people running the show, some fun decor that’s charming, and some perfectly-prepared desserts; it’s a winning combination.
The servers and other staff were very pleasant to talk to… they gave good opinions (that were spot on) when making some menu choices… and they served up some massive portions of fantastic food.
We drove from Knoxville, Tennessee to road-test our new (to us) car; we like trying random German restaurants.
I had the house special with potato salad to start. The potato salad was perfectly balanced and tasted very fresh. Once the special came out, the portion was the first massive plus… the second was the quality: pork perfectly tenderized and breaded, sauerkraut flavorful and just-right juicy, and their red-skin potatoes are possibly the best I’ve ever had at a dining establishment. Perfect mashed potatoes. For dessert, their cheesecake is a great rendition of the German variety, with rich cheese that’s carefully prepared sitting between layers of perfectly moist cake with hints of lemon and anise.
Did I mention that we ate our fill and essentially had full meals to enjoy the next day?
The only knock: no stickers or magnets to add to our scrapbook and fridge to remind us of this great meal. (They did have some festive German-themed pins that we’ll be making into a magnet.)
Thank you, folks. It was our pleasure dining in your excellent restaurant.
P.S.: they do carry some German-market treats and have some t-shirts for sale; didn’t want to make it seem as if there was nothing to be had in merch.

Not a positive dining experience. Food was mediocre and did not seemed over cooked and not fresh. Wait staff appeared to not want to be there, no greeting, no friendly smiling faces and no appreciation for our patronage. Ordered side dishes left undelivered until reminded. Had to get and pay at the host station because our waitress never returned. So wanted this to be a nice dining experience but instead received an overpriced disappointment.

Just visited Augsburg for my first time though my girlfriend has been coming here for years. Everything was really good- we had the jagerschnitzel, cucumber salad, red cabbage and a hefeweizen. Can’t wait to go back!

Delicious. As someone who lived in Germany, I’m always happy to visit Augsburg Haus and enjoy some authentic and tasty food paired with a German beer. My favorite is anything paired with their spaetzle. Give Augsburg Haus a try!
Update for 2023: it had been a while since I’d eaten at Augsburg Haus and I was saddened to learn the founder passed away. I ordered all my old favorites and can report that they are still as good as they always were. His friends and family have done a great service to his memory and to Augusta by continuing to run this restaurant well.
