Had a quick lunch at Bud’s and was quite impressed. I’m a tough grader for BBQ joints but Bud’s passes the test. He serves Texas style barbeque and this Texan enjoyed it. My MU professor friend had the nachos and they looked amazing. They don’t cheat you on portion sizes here!

First time visiting when we came in on Friday July 18th 2025 at 8pm and it was empty. We had to ask and confirm they were open. The host was timid and lacking energy. Maybe it was a single off day for her. The food was pretty good. The tacos were delicious. They had ran out of Mexican street rice so we didn’t get to try it out. The tater tot casserole lacked flavor. The skirt steak on the tacos was spot on. The bar was closed so we didn’t get to try any drinks. No music playing, so the atmosphere was somber. Will have to try again when it’s busy to see how different the atmosphere changes.

Student combo has a great portion size for the price! Only $12 for a pulled pork sandwich, drink and fries. Service is always great and servers are very friendly! Quality of the sandwich can be hit or miss depending on how busy the restaurant is but overall would recommend their pulled pork!

Fantastic BBQ, not sure if it’s Kansas City style or St Louis style but it was good. Went there for dinner with a couple of friends. Plates were well portioned for the price and everybody enjoyed dinner. Pretty quiet for a Monday night, I imagine the atmosphere might be livelier on a different night. Service was good but casual, as was the overall atmosphere.

First time dining at this restaurant.
Relaxed atmosphere. You enter, order your food, pay, and find a seat. The staff brings your food to you. There is a full bar inside.
Food: good helping of food. Flavors were good.
I wish the pulled pork was more seasoned though.
Good overall spot to get some BBQ and relax.

This place has a great feel to it, very updated, service was great, got a couple of good recommendations from the hostess.
The chicken was delicious and crispy, my sandwich was loaded and the gold sauce was great.
I will say the sides are kinda small for what you pay for the entree combos or even the sandwiches. Especially considering an extra side is 4.50+
Will I return yes, but for price reasons not very often…

Awesome atmosphere! I came here to eat during Mizzou’s Thursday night football home/season opener. I sat at the bar, the game was on, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. I ordered the brisket and the tater casserole per the young lady’s recommendation. Everything was really good! Highly recommend!

We had the Pulled pork sandwich with zesty slaw, Pork belly burnt ends with Mac and cheese, Mango habanero burnt ends with baked beans, Pulled pork Grilled cheesez with chips, and the new Fusion Burger with chips. We also got 3 fountain drinks. Final bill was $120 (including a 20% tip).
The burnt ends were a little dry on this particular occasion (not on any of the rest) but still good. I would say that they are for sure the best BBQ in mid Missouri area.
The service is always great and accommodating.

I am quite disappointed as everyone had hyped this restaurant up. The portions are small for what you are paying for. The cole slaw had a lemon taste and lacked the expected creamy texture. The BBQ sauce was tangy, but not in a good way. The fries were seasoned unevenly as each bite was either too salty or plain. The actual meat was average at best. Overall, not what I expect when I hear the words “Texas Barbecue”.
