We had our rehearsal dinner here years ago and the food was amazing! Since then we always stop in for brunch or dinner when we are driving through. The feel of the place is great. The store next door is super fun. There are new owners now and they seem to be very nice. Some of my favorite items on the menu (and still on the menu we had) were no longer being served. Found that out after ordering. Our salads we inedible. (brown and wilted) I hear it is going to be a more casual dining menu. At the moment it seems like they are still working through the transition.

If you have not tried Mike’s In the Village, you are missing one of the BEST dining experiences! There were four of us, and we each ordered something different and then “sampled” from the plates. EVERYTHING was absolutely OUTSTANDING! The same with the desserts – we all ordered different items – I ordered the Mexican Chocolate ice cream with tequila – I almost did NOT want to share!! And the portions were exactly perfect – and in my experience, I found the prices to actually be a little on the low side, considering how wonderful the food is! I have eaten at many top restaurants, and without a doubt, Mike’s in the Village is the best food, best pricing, best atmosphere in all of San Antonio!! I urge everyone to try this restaurant – even their Sunday Brunch was the absolute BEST I have ever eaten! Yes, even better than J.W. Marriott’s famous brunch – so please, give this place a try – you will not be disappointed!!! TEN STARS to the Chef and the staff – wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful atmosphere! You all set the bar very high – and you delivered!!!! Well done!!!!

We had this business cater our house party for 85 guests. Overall, the first item we wanted was good food and every guest comment on the great quality of food. That is primarily why I rated them high. The two servers did a very good job. Our dislikes – the caterer was one hour late in arriving at home due to mis communication of business owner to staff; this in turn cause high levels of stress on my wife and I; the owner stated to my wife that the plates would be 7.5′ in diameter and they were 6′; we had a lot of left over food and my wife was very displeased with this situation; we never got a call back from the owner to review the service.

Great customer service. This a place to enjoy and not be rushed. Everything is delicious: chicken Alfredo, stuffed pork chops, Ceasar salad, wine, fried oysters. Tracy, our waitress is fabulous every time she waits on us.

FOOD 4/5: The Ribeye was cooked “well-done” when we requested medium, but it still tasted amazing. The waitress did not offer to take it back and we also didn’t want to wait another 30 min for food since we had already waited 1.5 hours for it anyway. She offered a free desert instead. We had 4 entrees and all were very delicious!
SERVICE 2/5: Waitress was positive and attentive, however the food service was very slow!! It took 45 min to receive our initial appetizer of chicken fried oysters. Then it took another 20 min after that to receive our soup and salads, then another 20 min to receive our entree’s. So it took an hour and a half to receive our Entree’s!!! Thank goodness we ordered 3 bottles of wine or we would have been very Hangry and grumpy customers.
MANAGMENT 0/5: So our group of 4 had a Groupon that said 4 meals and desserts after we paid initial $45. No other clarification was in the fine print as to a maximum $$ we were allowed to spend or what the limits were of the Groupon. The manager reviewed our Groupon, admitted there was no clarification on OUR Groupon, but stated on her email from the company that it was only good for up to $86. She printed her communication from Groupon. We tried to explain that due to a miscommunication with Groupon/restaraunt that it was deceptive and were we led to believe that we would be receiving a better offer. The manager became defensive and would not budge or give us a discount. We also told her how the waitress comp’d us for a free dessert since the Ribeye steak was way overcooked. Again the manager said she could not honor that. Its only $6 lady!! She would not budge. We told her she needs to be better aware of what she and the restaurant are willing to offer disgruntled patrons. She finally agreed to take off the charge for the dessert. Sigh…..is it so hard to come to a compromise with customers?? We weren’t asking for a free meal, but simply to admit that there had been a miscommunication with Groupon and give some sort of compromise with the bill. Poor marketing and customer service from the Manager. Otherwise, the food was a pleasant experience.

Hands down the best service I’ve experienced in San Antonio/Bulverde since moving here two years ago .. Absolutely amazing… The food was even better .. Louisiana/Italian style .. You can’t make this stuff up! What an amazing place .. Plus the have a wine bar right next store with the friendliest people .. This place is a must visit!!!!
