A small and quiet restaurant serving some amazing food for a fair price. I highly recommend the strangest thing I’ve head of but also one of the best the seafood pancake is not what it sounds… filled and grilled seafood cake the size of a large pancake will feed a group or 4 as an amazing appetizer.

Excellent food & service. Waitress Min was very helpful with my korean selections and made sure my hot tea was always full. Very clean & neat restaurant. I ordered the pork/tofu soup with the potsticker appetizer. I barely finished my meal. Good sized portions. I’ll definitely be back very soon.

I went with the Seafood Pancake and then the Stone Bowl Bibimbap. Both were absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong with either one! The Bibimbap is enjoyed how the rice at the bottom became nice and crispy. You use the spoon and break it up and mix all the ingredients together along with adding homemade gochujang sauce to it as well. I should have ate only half and brought the rest home. Did I? Nope!! LOL

Ronnie had the Soft Tofu Stew with Shrimp! The Shrimp were nice sized and very enjoyable!

To me this is better and a more relaxed environment to relax and enjoy a truly fresh meal

Take a break from VIP or Korean Garden and give Jinmi a try!!

This is authentic and delicious Korean restaurant in Anchorage. We had Kalbee, Bulgogi, Kimchi Soup. They are all great.

The owner is very nice and kind. We feel like visiting a friend’s house for a meal.

We have been in Alaska for 2 weeks and we had our dinner here 3 times. It is that good!

We love traveling the world’s diverse food options. Our standards are high. We love walking into a Korean restaurant and hearing Korean being spoken, seeing diverse menus options, and feeling like we have walked into Korea. As far as the atmosphere goes, I feel like they could liven up the restaurant and showcase more Korean culture through decor. The bathrooms especially could be a focus point.
Service was good. We were greeted in Korean upon entry! The server was polite and prompt.
The food is the real reason we go into any place. I loved that they had a great variety of options. They had beef interesting stew and a few other options that are unusual for Americans. For Alaska we thought they did a great job of a home Korean cooked meal. Compared to the absolute best we’ve had in our lives, this was a solid 4/5. Highly recommend the short ribs.

I made a post earlier and it disappeared. I gave a star for service because they did not bother to serve me when I walked in for a late lunch at almost 3pm. Think this is why my review disappeared.

I walked into this Korean restaurant and there was a number of Korean customers almost finishing their meal. I am a non-Korean Asian and I spoke in English as I don’t speak Korean. The elderly woman called another woman to come and I asked her in English if restaurant was opened. She told me she needed to clean up then ignored me totally and left me standing there. So I had to walk out to look for another restaurant for my late lunch. Luckily there’s a Japanese restaurant (Fukumaru Teriyaki) next door.

I went here with my mom, and I’d say hands down the best-tasting food in Anchorage. I got goat soup, and the goat was incredibly tender, and the soup was super flavorful. My mom got stone bibimbap and absolutely loved it, as well as their homemade gochujang sauce. The service was terrific, and they checked on us multiple times throughout the meal, ensuring that our sides were refilled when they ran out.

Wow! It’s been a couple weeks since I ate here and I keep thinking about the delicious food! I had to come leave a review. I will definitely return my next time in Anchorage. The women working were so friendly and helpful as well. I saw one peeking to see if we looked happy when the server brought our food. Maybe she was the cook or owner. I’m looking forward to eating there again. My husband and I aren’t easily impressed and we were both delighted.

Grilled mackerel is amazing
No frills restaurant with home cooked food

My mum and I come here almost every time we stay over in Anchorage- it is that good

If you are trying Korean food for the first time, I recommend getting a sense of what kind of food you want beforehand

There is usually only one waitress and one cook when we go so they don’t usually have time to go over the details of the menu (other than like portion sizes)

Everything we have tried is good but the fried mackerel and dongjae jjigae soup (fermented soybean soup- amazing if you have an upset stomach or if you need something that feels hearty and cleansing) are my favourites

For those asking about sides, the sides that comes with your food are the usual kind of sides that comes with a Korean meal.. they alternate in different restaurants, but there will always be kimchi, pickled radish, a bowl of rice, and then two to three other small things to go along with your food

This isn’t Instagram food or carb comforting kind of food, but more like coming home at the end of a long and tiring workday and eating a home cooked dinner with your family kind of food

For atmosphere, it’s legit and the same if you went to a regular mom and pop place in Seoul
Quiet in a lunch room sort of way with sometimes the television playing a cooking show or drama

Again, this is not an Instagram kind of restaurant, but one you go to for lunch with family to eat homecooked food

Will be coming back!
