Vandy’s is a cozy golf course bar and grill located on the edge of Waconia. We’ve tried a number of different things here and our experiences have been a bit scattered.
The sunfish was wildly under fried, you can notice by the light color in the picture and it was soggy and limp as well which was very disappointing.
The burrata was VERY good. Excellent flavor and the roasted tomatoes had a great sweetness and smokiness to them. Would definitely come back just for this.
The salmon BLT had nice balance to it and was a good portion size.
The brisket chili was grainy and over salted to the point of lacking flavor entirely.
The Alfredo was very bland but the chicken it had on it had nice char and seasoning while still being juicy.
The Bees Knees cocktail I got was not balanced and way too sweet.
They had a “Blueberry Angel food Cake” on special for dessert. And while it tasted fine, it wasn’t really angel food cake at all and more like mashed up cubes of shortcake?
And this is more of a personal preference thing but they also batter their French fries which I find to get really greasy and heavy.
Overall the food is kind of all over the place but the staff is friendly and they have a decent beer and wine selection. It’s also maybe best to stick to burgers and sandwiches here..

We went here for the steak and all you can eat lobster. Party of 4, seated in the lakeside room, great view, nice atmosphere. Outside temp was in the 20’s, room was cool at first luckily seated by fireplace. Warmed up once someone noticed an open window and closed it. Bathrooms were clean but also cold.
Food was good, medium steaks came out perfect, medium well and well done were about the same, a little dry for the medium well.
First batch of lobster was a little over done but still good. We each also had one that was slightly underdone. The rest were perfect. Green beans and buns were very good. Mashed potatoes were also good.

Best fish fry we’ve had in years. Delicious bluegills. Fries were also noteworthy. Also enjoyed three green goddess bowl which was served hot and multiple veggies.

I’ve been here a handful of times over the years. It never disappoints. Vandy’s is welcoming to golfers and more importantly the non golfers looking for dining. They accommodate families, small groups and i’ve even attended a wedding here.

HOLY MOLY. Do they have Snoop Dog back there rolling these wontons?! They are SO good. Vandys is a 10/10 option in Carver County. Excellent atmosphere, wonderful staff, and tasty food! Whoever owns/runs this restaurant is a genius and is doing a great job.

We stopped here for lunch on our way down to Mystic Lake, I had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries – hands down the best Reuben I’ve ever had! My boyfriend had the smash burger and said it was phenomenal! Fast forward to on our way home, we had to stop for lunch again it was so good! I had the Waconia steak sandwich and sweet potato fries – again, it was so delicious! My boyfriend had the smash burger again since he loved it so much the first time.
Definitely going to tell my friends how great this place is – and not to mention the great view of the beautiful golf course! We will be back in the future

First, I’d like to say that the staff and service at Vandy’s is exceptional. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable on my dietary restrictions (celiacs). However, this is at least our third or fourth time giving the food a chance. Each time we have sent our meals back because they are inedible. My husband ordered the Tennessee hot fried chicken sandwich (pictured). He took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. It was a frozen, thin, dry breaded chicken patty that was drenched in DRY seasoning. So much seasoning you could literally blow it off. It looked repulsive and tasted repulsive. I ordered a $16 burger that came out with a still frozen gluten free bun and a clearly pre frozen patty. If I’m paying $16 for a burger, at least make sure the patty is freshly made not frozen. McDonald’s makes a better burger.
Unfortunately, we will not be ordering food from there again. I think we have learned our lesson and given the restaurant enough chances to get their kitchen in order. Just doesn’t look like it’s ever going to happen.

I had my wedding reception dinner at Vandy’s Grille/Island View Golf Club. It was such a great experience, and Chelsea was wonderful to work with! I had to change my date 3x due to Covid, and they were always very flexible and easy going with any changes. The space looked great, the food was fantastic, and the staff was very attentive. I highly suggest Vandy’s Grille/Island View Golf Club for a reception venue!

We felt the atmosphere was wonderful, for once, a restaurant that was warm! And lighting was really nice too. Last restaurant we were at had a blinding light hanging over the table. Our server was very busy, it was 6pm, but that did not stop him from doing a nice job at our table. My husband is still dreaming about the steak sandwich and fries! The steak house salad … delicious! The table next to us had the bluegills and they looked really good too! Loved it!

The owner, Kory, is frequently visiting with the guests. The food is seasoned well and the menu has the right combination of unique and common choices and are delicious. The homemade chips are great well. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We just had the walleye sandwich and burger with pulled pork. Yum!
