I really hate writing negative reviews, but after two separate experiences at the KFC in Brooklyn, CT, I feel compelled to share.

About a month ago, I ordered a family meal deal and forgot to mention that I didn’t want wings included. When I got to the window, I apologized for not saying it earlier and politely asked if I could swap the wings for something else. I even offered to pay the difference. The young woman at the counter immediately seemed flustered and told me I’d have to go back around through the drive-through line. There was already a long line of cars, and I was literally at the window, so I asked why that would be necessary.

She called the manager, who said the same thing. I again asked why I would need to circle back through when I was already there and willing to pay the difference. At that point, the manager visibly became angry, took my container of chicken, tossed the wings back into the bin, threw two thighs in, handed me the bag, and said nothing. She was clearly upset that I even made the request. It was uncomfortable and completely unprofessional.

Fast forward to today. My wife wanted KFC for dinner. I hesitated because of the last experience but decided to give them another chance, assuming it was just a one-off situation.

It wasn’t.

I pulled into the drive-through just before 5:00 PM on a Thursday and ordered the 10-piece meal deal. I was told, “Sorry, we have no chicken. You’ll have to wait 25 minutes.” Thinking maybe they were just out of crispy, I asked for original instead. I was then told they didn’t have that either.

I was honestly stunned. A chicken restaurant with no chicken at prime dinner time? This wasn’t 8:00 PM or near closing — it was just before 5:00 PM on a normal weekday. That’s simply unacceptable.

To make matters worse, once you’re in the drive-through line, there’s no easy way out, so I still had to wait to exit.

Between the unprofessional behavior during my first visit and the total lack of preparation during my second, I won’t be returning. It’s disappointing because this location serves a small community and should be able to provide basic service and inventory management.

Unfortunately, this has completely turned me off from even attempting to go back.

I made an order for a later pick up time. I received a text message saying my food was ready to pick up almost 45 minutes before arranged time to pick up (have screen shots with time stamp) when I went to pick up my order at the time chosen and asked to speak to a manager and explained my concerns. The manager “Holly” said she had just put my food out herself and it was fresh (not sitting on the counter for 45 minutes) -Holly lied, the food was cold to the touch and was not the correct order. Once again I expressed that my food was cold and my order was wrong. Holly remade ⅔ of the order and still did not get the order correct. Holly basically said take it or leave it in so many words. At that point I wanted my refund, but due to it being an online order that was not an option. -I shouldn’t have been charged for the wrong order and should have been refunded. Moving forward I feel that manager should be reprimanded . Please check your camera 2/10/2026 6:45pm until 7:55pm. You will see the whole thing.

TERRIBLE experience!! Ordered with no one else behind us inside. Just me and my wife. 5 other orders came in after us plus 2 deliveries; all but one were served before us. Ours hadn’t even been worked on. Associates talking about us behind the cook area, claiming it was only 15 minutes when in fact it was nearly 30 minutes.

If you like KFC and Taco Bell, this gives you a chance to mix and match your food. But it is American fast food, something quick and cheap to fill your stomach. The kids at the register are always friendly and cheerful and that is always a plus.

5:30 pm both chicken breast dry and hard. Replacements just as bad. 2nd replacements were suspiciously wet beyond a beyond soggy!!. Didn’t eat it and left. . Won’t be back due to odd looks from the crew!!!!

You have to order from a kiosk. My extra crispy chicken dinner was extra dry. All the tables were dirty. No, they were not busy and I can see why.
