TLDR: It’s that same Pio Pio you know and love. Personally, this might be my favorite location. If you’ve never been, Matador Combo.

I’ve been going to Pio Pio for almost 20 years. As expected, they’ve finally expanded to Long Island in Glen Cove.

Looks like the one in Jackson Heights but taller ceilings and less noisy. This might be the first time it was not someone’s birthday (IYKYK) during service.

It was just the wife + I so we stuck with the Matador Combo. If you’ve never had it, you get their famous chicken, an avocado salad, salchipapas (fries + hot dogs), plantains (sweet or savory) and rice/beans.

We got a glass of sangria which is always classic and I tried the Marucaya (passionfruit) Sour and both were very tasty. I felt like the food comes out here FAST and the chicken was HOT. Possibly the best experience I’ve had at Pio Pio since the very first time I tried it in Jackson Heights. When they were in the tiny space that Amaru is in before they moved across the street.

We’ll probably go to this one from now on. Everything from the space, service, drinks and food were perfect. It’s not that often when I leave a restaurant and everyone box was checked but tonight it was. I’d like to come back with more people so I can try some of the other items on the menu.

What a fantastic dinner! Had the matador combo which I highly recommend. It was terrific for a family of 4 to share. Seafood paella was also delicious!

We had dinner last night to celebrate my wife’s bday, her mother and nephew came from chile last week for vacation and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate with all , and we ha other family members as well. Sangria was delicious and it all started well. We ordered entrees as family style, they came out with food and started putting out on the table and as they did we realized it was the wrong food…. ITT was for another table so they picked it up and delivered to the right table I guess. Then ours came and it looked yummy…. As we took the steak on sticks I took a bite and it was stone cold , it was served with potatoes and the potatoes were steaming hot , made no sense to me, we sent them back and when they came back you would think they’ll be sizzling… wrong again still cold and the potatoes that were still on the table were hot!! Makes no sense to me. The server that brought the food out was kind enough to bring it back and check but our waitress Jacqueline whom took our order and I assume will check on us didn’t do much, just walked around and say “everything ok” but not knowing or realizing something was wrong or let the manager with his fancy jacket that stayed at the podium and didn’t check around “ just walked around with a smile but not knowing what happened, maybe our server or waitress Jacqueline didn’t make him aware of the situation which she should had. But I’m very disappointed with the kitchen staff chef , you take pride in what you do specially a chef and you want to deliver everything as perfect as you can, and the meat came out stone cold and we sent it back and it came out the same???. At the end I asked for check and Jacqueline stands there waiting for me to use my card and I saw the option for no tip… I wanted to sooo bad to hit it but I am in the hospitality industry for over 30 years and it’s not fair that others had to pay for slackers mistakes so I did left the minus tip, but I was so embarrassed with my family my wife and this shouldn’t bother me but last night was our second time going there and definitely the last time. The place could be beautiful, the food ok but the service always can make up for the others.

Family occasions,
date nights , work dinner or just friends hanging
out out,
this warm, friendly and modern place is a HIT.

Food is Amazingly Delicious! Portions
are
fantastic and pricing is just right.
Take out is just as good (make
sure extra extra green sauce: trade mark sauce is worth buying extra)

Recently celebrated a birthday and the staff went beyond with special attentions, and friendliness.
Sang a nice version of the
“birthday song” with the most delicious piece of cake to go along.

Bathrooms are
super clean, kid friendly ,
valet parking (nice staff too) and an extensive menu that has something for everyone.

The food is always amazing. It’s consistent throughout all locations. At Glen Cove the service was exceptional! The atmosphere is authentic, clean and fitting for the type of food and location. Don’t forget to try the Sangria. It lives up to the hype

LOVE Pio Pio 10! This place never disappoints. The rotisserie chicken is always perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, and paired with their crispy French fries, rice, and beans—it’s the best. The empanadas are super tasty, and we can’t get enough of their famous green sauce! It’s the perfect mix of spicy and tangy, and we put it on everything! The service is always friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

I must preface by stating that I’m Peruvian, therefore I’ve been to many Peruvian restaurants all over the world including Peru. This place is quite good. The service is great and the location is beautiful. The food overall was good. Parihuela soup was my partners favorite dish. The ceviche was very well made. Octopus was great! Cooked very well and I loved the potatoes it came with. We were not fans of the Nikkei. My camarones Cuzco was simply made with a yellow pepper sauce but not bad, just nothing spectacular. The corvina a lo macho sauce was very good in my opinion, but for my partner it was a little too acid. Overall the dishes were good.

I came here with my family after they raved about their rotisserie chicken, and I was blown away! The ambiance of the restaurant gives off a really cool, hip vibe — from the large double doors at the entrance to the accent brick wall with cool artwork. When we went on a weeknight the restaurant was relatively quiet but given the acoustics of the room I can imagine it being very loud and energetic on a busy weekend!

Back to the rotisserie chicken. I believe this is what they are known for and I completely understand why! This was easily one of the best tasting chickens I’ve ever had out at a restaurant (and we like to go out to eat!). In fact, the chicken was so good I ended up ordering seconds (not sure if I have ever done that?)! It was so incredibly juicy, flavorful, tender, and the skin was crisped perfectly. The seasoning was delicious. I also couldn’t believe how quickly they brought everything out! I highly recommend ordering the Peruvian combo so you can sample both dark and white chicken pieces along with a variety of sides (a light avocado salad that complements the chicken well and french fries). We ordered an extra side of maduros (sweet ripe plantains) and they were nicely sweetened and caramelized. They paired really nicely with the chicken and other sides. There is a pourable aji verde (green sauce) on the table. It makes for a great dipping sauce with everything on the table but just keep in mind that it is a bit spicy. Still good though! We ordered a few drinks (martini, sangria) that were also very well prepared.

*Note: I didn’t try any of the other dishes so I can’t personally speak to them, but they do offer other Peruvian classics such as different kinds of ceviche and lomo saltado.

The food in itself made the experience here a great one but we were also impressed by how kind and attentive the staff working there was. They were helpful with our questions, were very attentive to the table, and were kind and personable in general.

It’s interesting because the restaurant feels really hip and trendy at the same time as being down-to-earth with food that feels homey and comforting. I live out-of-town but would come back here on my visits back to Long Island in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great dining out experience on my visit back home!

The food here is top-notch. They are easily the best Spanish restaurant in the area, or maybe even in the entire Nassau County. The dining room is spectacular, and the staff is very welcoming. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for magnificent eats in the area. It’s so good, you might just get addicted!!
