My wife and I stopped in on a whim, Saturday afternoon. Tuna melt was the special AND they had lobster bisque. If they have the lobster bisque (because they don’t always) GET IT! The service was friendly and attentive. A must go for Placerville.

The fresh oysters were amazing. Also, the steamer clams were just perfect.
We also had the best clam chowder and excellent crab cakes. Everything was just amazing. Our server was very sweet, attentive and friendly. We had a great experience and cannot wait to go back!!

Service was nice and friendly, oysters was the best part our lunch. Both linguines tasted over cooked, no flavor, felt mushy and soupy disappointed in the main dishes but a good spot for a beer and oysters.

My husband and I were looking for some place to have dinner and get a cocktail. Decided to give them a try, and so glad we did. The bartender Suzie was amazing, personable, sweet as pie, and she was taking care of the whole place with the help of an awesome chef. Food was great , cocktails were great. Hands down give it a try . P.S. Wednesday nights they have open mic night starting at 7 for those that like to sing or Play instruments

Had a really nad experience here, people being over served and being very aggressive. Had a minor dissagreement about the food and the chef ( eric was his name) didnt looked like he was happy and thats when we were done. Later into the night the chef was out and heard a slur about our comments on the food. Will not be coming back or would not recommend spending your money

Stopped in Placerville for lunch and found this gem. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and amazing clams! We sat at the bar and engaged in conversation with a few of the regulars. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Sometimes the senior citizen swing dance club meets here. Sometimes Joe might be playing or singing. Sometimes feet are tapping to the rhythm of the live band. Powell’s is the place to eat platters of oysters because why order half a dozen when the whole platter is a better deal? Of course, it’s mandatory to have beer or wine to gulp down in the same movement that you gulp down the oysters. Crab sandwich really needed more “oomph” to it- maybe lettuce or tomatoes or side garnish or toasting? Nothing worse than thinking that you too could have cut a piece of bread and dumped crab meat onto it with a side of Thousand Island.
