Since we are go there on Mother’s Day, it’s really busy. I think most of the restaurants are short of staff. Just enjoy the view first then waiting for the staff. They work hard to please the customers.
I am highly recommended the taro fries( the item you must order) 3 cups chicken pot, Shanghai Fried noodles and duck with lettuce wrap.
The food and price are good.
The crab meat pork XLB is outstanding! Better than what I have had at Din Tai Fung.
The hot and sour soup is very flavourful and easy to drink, perfectly balanced with heat and tang. Might be spicy for some.
The eggplant with pork is interesting because it is drenched in the same chili oil typically used for water boiled fish or beef. Different, but worth a try.
The deep fried tofu pudding in garlic sauce was a bit too salty for my taste. I would recommend serving the tofu and sauce separately to minimize the saltiness and let the tofu shine.
The cucumber salad is super garlicky, refreshing, and delicious.
For me, this place stands alongside Long in Richmond and Din Tai Fung in downtown Vancouver as one of the only three XLB spots in the Lower Mainland that I keep coming back to.
This was my first time trying this place. I’ve tried many Chinese restaurants in the area and the reviews were high. However, when I came in, I had to try and get their attention and when I did when I went to pay, I noticed that the amount is higher than what is listed on their menu online. I also would’ve ordered online, but there was a four dollar service charge which I called and asked about and they had nothing to say so then they’re charging me more to pick up at the restaurant than they are to order online? When they brought the manager out, she had nothing to say and then walked away. I was very kind about it. I said that it’s OK I’ll pay whatever I realize it’s hard to do business but when I got home, my husband and I are eating the food. It’s tasteless bland the rice is plain. The beef and broccoli is OK. Lots of grizzly fats was a very cheap cuts of meat, but the sweet-and-sour chicken had no chicken in it like I’ll send you a photo. This is insane. It’s just batter. It’s disgusting. The peppers and onions are undercooked so if you would like to eat raw vegetables with your meal, go ahead so for $70 I am unbelievably underwhelmed and disappointed Very disappointed from the Customer Service difficulty getting in and out of there and the lack of care and consideration towards me when I’m trying to communicate with you and the food isn’t even good with all that said one star if I could give it zero I would. It’s giving food court, but way worse.
Also very expensive.
The quality of food, service, price and atmosphere all are well worth the five stars.
Since I think they have a good chef, all the food will be good.
The portion of the food are good for the price. The lady server that we met is super friendly and helpful.
When we want to order the Xiao Long Bao, it was sold out at that time 4pm.
The lady tells us after we finished our meal. The stream buns are just freshly made. So we order one again. It’s so good with all juice inside the small bun.
It will be nicer if we can sit outside but it’s too cold out there even with heater.
We sure will be back when we are visiting this area again.
They claim this to be干烧虾球 in the picture, but it was most definitely not 干烧 as it’s wet and tastes like dih
Shanghai noodles, soup dumplings, and soup of the day were amazing, and so were all the other dishes we had.
Forgot to take pictures until later in the meal
