A great in style restaurant, ambience felt like we were inside of an old historic in/home. The private dining was incredible. The servers were very attentive and the manager/owner made sure to stop in and check on us often! Owner was very funny and was sure to let us know that they have no microwaves on site, only restaurant in the area without a microwave, so you know the food is fresh and tasty! Everything came out super well, highly recommend the New York strip, as it was cooked to perfection and was a hearty healthy piece of meat. Will definitely be back if not for the food, then to chitchat with the owner.

We attended a private anniversary dinner for some friends. We were greeted immediately upon arriving a d escorted upstairs where the space was reserved. The Metuchen Inn, boasts an elegant atmosphere. There was fireplace upstairs that added to a nice and intimate experience. The staff were attentive and did an exceptional job with catering to and engaging with us. The food was cooked perfectly, and the drinks were amazing. We would definitely recommend the Metuchen Inn, and return.

We booked this place for after my grandfather’s funeral, and I’m glad we did. This place is small, but comfortable, cozy, and clean. The staff was very nice and accommodating. But the real star was the food. I ordered their herb chicken and I can’t even explain how much I liked it. It was fantastic! My family ordered different dishes, and not one complained. My son was covered in sauce by the end of it because it was so good. We will definitely be eating here again.

We go here often. The restaurant is large, but still quaint. There are multiple rooms to dine in, so it doesn’t get too noisy. Service is always top notch. Food was great, we ordered the Sausage, Broccoli Rabe, and Pasta, as well as the Halibut, and a Shrimp and Linguini. All were great.
Can’t wait to go back.

Our waiter Alexander was great. Super friendly, gave great suggestions and was quick to clear the table and top up our sparkling water. Food was EXCELLENT. The calamari was super light and crispy, so was the crab meat ravioli and the halibut; all pictured. The family was very pleased with everything. Definitely recommended.

This has been a wonderful spot to have a nice sit-down dinner with old co-workers for the past few years. While our visit is only annual, we’ve been here enough to know they do not make a single bad dish in the kitchen.
The short ribs here really hit the spot, and don’t skip out on the dessert!
They have a wonderful little selection of locally madecraft beers, which is great to see!

My husband and I went there for our anniversary. Not 1 complaint about the food. Everything was delicious very good. The only thing was wait time. We understood though because the food was fresh and delicious. We waited for our check and it took another 20-25 minutes. That part we weren’t happy about. However, we will be back. The staff was very friendly.

We walked in behind a couple and their small dog wanting to be seated. I should have known it was not going to be a good night.
We were seated and not given any menus. About 7 minutes later we were given menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We didn’t realize there was a drink menu. We saw that after we ordered. Our drinks came out about 15 minutes later and we ordered our appetizers and entrees. Before our apps came out and we ordered a second drink. We heard another server recite specials. We were not offered any specials.
By this time about 20 minutes had passed, our first drink glasses and app plates were sitting on the edge of the table. Another waitress came over and apologized for our drinks and pitcher of sangria being detained. They had a party if 24 and a full dining room and only one bartender!!! I mentioned not being offered any specials. At this point the other waitress recited them. It was too late since our order was already in. I certainly would have ordered a special entree instead of the duck I ordered.
Our meals came out followed by our drinks. Out food was ok, not great and certainly not hot. My duck was tasty but warm. My husband said his lamb was ok, too. My daughter loved her osso buco. We continued to order dessert since it was our anniversary. That was the best part of our meal.
I had expected more from this dining experience. Our bill was $340, with tip for a mediocre meal. We haven’t been there in several years and we certainly won’t be back. They were extremely short handed and couldn’t handle the bar, clearing of plates or their own wait staff. Plus, allowing a dog in the dining room (that was not a service dog) was very disappointing. My husband and daughter are both allergic. Had they not been seated in a corner of another room we would have left.
