So glad the old manager is back! I believe her name is Jay. She went above and beyond
to make our experience very enjoyable. There is a HUGE noticeable difference in this location in all aspects. This place has leveled up in comparison to the last year or so. We were having a bit of a bad day before our visit here and after we left our day was completely turned around. It’s so refreshing to see that there are still nice people out there. It’s the smallest acts of kindness that can go a long way and really impact someone. Thank you to everyone on the team. May God bless this business moving forward. Food was also FIREEEE

On January 15, 2026, around 7:45 PM, I stopped at Wayback Burgers in Haines City, FL (near the Walmart) for a quick meal for my family after shopping. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only three employees working and just a couple of customers.
I ordered a cheeseburger combo, a chicken tender combo, and cheese curds—totaling about $50. I added a 15% tip on the screen, but received no “thank you,” no receipt, and no drink cups. The employees seemed distracted and unwelcoming, giving off a vibe that customers were an inconvenience.
My order was placed at 7:46 PM, but food wasn’t ready until 8:22 PM—a 36-minute wait despite the lack of customers. Another person who ordered after me received their food first. When my order was finally called, everything was packed to-go (though we planned to dine in), and I had to ask multiple times for the receipt and our two drinks. The employees appeared annoyed while reprinting the receipt.
Unfortunately, the food quality was poor: fries were soggy, chicken tenders were overcooked and mostly breading (my child couldn’t chew them), cheese curds were chewy, and my burger’s center seemed undercooked.
The overall experience felt hostile—poor service, long delays, and subpar food for the price. We ended up eating in the car and making dinner at home. I’ve had far better experiences (and service) at cheaper fast-food places where tipping isn’t expected.
This location has huge potential given the busy Walmart nearby, but the lack of basic customer service and food quality ensures I’ll never return or recommend it.

This was my first time at a Wayback. When I walked in there were about 10 online orders ahead of me but Shawn, the cooker, had about 15 patties going on the grill. They were able to give me my order within minutes and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. I was amazed that with only a cook and the manager working the front the team was able to get orders out so efficiently and with such quality. Amazing.

I actually decided to sit and dine in. Let me tell you my burger was sooooooo delicious. The employees were so pleasant and accommodating. I have braces on my teeth. Awesome Team for sure and the owner was a delight as well. This Chicago Lady will definitely be back.

Was National Hamburger day and I was in the area so decided to stop in and happy I did! The burger was delicious. Freshly grilled on flat top while I waited!
The location is a bit odd though in.a Walmart! As you are facing the front of the building it’s near the left entrance. Of course I went in on the right side but no biggie!

Saw the pictures and I fell for it. But even though the burger is about the size of a Big Mac, it was not a $10 burger. And yes, it does look big on the picture I took, but it’s a bit deceptive because the bacon was giving it height and width.
One thing I will say, I had the Bourbon Bacon Burger—which was actually Honey Mustard sauce—and it was a good size beef patty. Definitely not flattened.
But as to overall experience, it goes like this. It’s inside a Walmart Superstore. Never heard of the franchise but the pictures make you want to try it. Definitely, not going back to the 50’s folks so don’t fall for it.
Place was dirty, messy, and for the price, there’s other places where you can have a much better $10 burger.

Before, the service at this place on Old Lake Wilson Rd used to be good, but unfortunately it has gone downhill.
On my recent visit, the attention was poor and very disappointing compared to how it used to be. The staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful, which made the experience frustrating.
It’s unfortunate to see such a decline in service, especially when it was once a place I would recommend. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service.
