A beautiful surprise in Malibu!!

I happened to visit Clark’s Oyster Bar on their very first day of opening — by pure coincidence! At that time, the restaurant wasn’t even on Google Maps yet, and everything inside felt brand new — from the chairs and tableware to the subtle scent of fresh wood and sea breeze.
The food was truly impressive. The grilled oysters were outstanding — perfectly charred on the outside, tender and briny inside, with that addictive smoky aroma. I also tried the rockfish, which came with a sauce that balanced sweetness, saltiness, and a hint of acidity — refreshing, bright, and full of flavor.
And I have to mention the burger — absolutely delicious. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — definitely one for the burger lovers.
Clark’s brings a refined yet relaxed coastal charm to Malibu. I’m so glad I stumbled upon it on their very first day — it already feels like a place I’ll be coming back to again and again.

This place is amazing. Wasn’t planning on going out tonight. Had to charge my Tesla and figured I’d bring my laptop and get some stuff done. Walked past this place and was drawn in by the beauty and the vibe on the outdoor deck.

The place didn’t disappoint. Service is caring and attentive. The food is incredible. They had a wonderful outdoor couch lounge area where I could do my thing and enjoy some oysters, tuna carpaccio, beet/brie salad, and their top notch sourdough bread.

I’ll definitely come back here. Lots more on the menu that I cannot wait to savor.

I love entrepreneurs who at great personal risk and sacrifice decide to put in the effort to create amazing experiences that the rest of us get to enjoy for the simple act of paying a dollar or two. We live in the most incredible timeline. Life is magic.

We had a pleasant experience at Clark’s. Service from the hostess to the servers and support staff was very kind. They make a nice Belvedere martini with goat cheese stuffed olives. Will definitely come back for happy hour when martinis are half off! We enjoyed a bottle of Bartolo Mascarello Barbera d’Alba 2023, even though it was very young.

The sourdough bread was good but not warm, and the butter was dangerously addicting. We enjoyed the Tuna carpaccio was very good. The clam chowder was good with the oyster crackers. The wedge salad was ok and needed extra dressing. The bacon was delicious but it barely had any blue cheese or eggs. We added the jumbo shrimp which weren’t that big and they were a bit slimy. The grilled oysters were ok but had too many toppings and a bit creamy. Overall, we had a nice time.

Really great – sat at the bar and had a feast – we frequent the Aspen Clark’s – first time here. Pasta and clams great – chowder tasty – good drinks and great liquor selections – Fortaleza and Whistle Pig! Great bartenders. Lottie nitpick – the check in team didn’t know people can sit at the bar – they turned us away and said too busy – even though plenty of empty spots. I had to let them know plenty of “first come” bar service – they had to ask – they realized ok and gladly sat us – just training issue. We LOVED this place – great atmosphere and great food and great people!!! A+!!

This place is an excellent addition to the Malibu community. We had the woodfired oysters, dorade a la plancha with the salsa verde and smoked paprika sauces, the watercress bibb lettuce salad, and their delicious rosemary shoestring fries.

We were there on Thursday evening and it was very easy for us to get a table. The restaurant was busy. We happen to run into friends which was fun.

I understand that there is a happy hour menu that has great pricing. I think it’s definitely worth a trip to Malibu to try this place out.

Nice spot. Too much sun they need more umbrellas. The baked oysters were good amd so was the tuna. The quiche was medium. Good service overall.

The restaurant is located in a lovely area, and the outdoor seating was very pleasant for a relaxed afternoon.

The starters were delicious, and the service was attentive. I visited specifically for the lobster; while it was still tasty, it could have had more aroma and depth of flavor. Since mine was grilled, it was also slightly on the dry side.

Would be 5 stars- food was truly excellent except the French fries. They are shoestring style. Tastes more like burnt separated hash browns. Poor excuse for French fries. Please stop serving those. Atmosphere and service=wonderful!
