Chef Marshall has turned this tiny dive bar into a true Diamond in the rough. A quaint little fishing town with a top chef serving up fresh perfectly cooked and balanced dishes like a fine dining establishment is quite worth the wait. His menu is simple with many options for any type of diner. While there is not much room to seat guests, service is efficient and personal with the chef himself delivering the expertly plated prizes. Entree worthy appetizers, great drinks and a superb staff was unexpected at first glance. As for the entrees, the proteins are simply perfectly cooked and the sides are an original twist on good ole comfort food. The desert was literally the icing on the cake. Bravo.

WOW. We’re from Appleton. Jeanette wanted to go somewhere different for dinner. We got on the highway and ended up in Algoma. I had taken customers to Skaliwags in the past. So I drove around town until I found the place. They don’t open until 4;30 pm so we waited outside with alote of other friendly people. When the doors open we all went in. Place is small. But the staff is SO FRIENDLY. Took our drink order. Then our food order and the food was fantastic.the chef came over to us twice and asked how everything was. SUPER KOOL . The place was packed and the chef and wait staff made time to make sure we were HAPPY. . Now that’s impressive. Thank you Skaliwags .

5 Star Dive Bar is how the Wisconsin channel referred to this place. It has the bar rail and about 5 tables that seat 4 people (pretty small). I couldn’t believe how busy it was when I arrive. We were quickly greeted and addressed by name from then on. We sat next to a local who introduced us to items not listed on the chalkboard menu. The food was spectacular! I couldn’t believe the flavor that came out of the small kitchen. For being a bar, you don’t expect fine dining prices, but keep in mind it’s seafood and some fish is freshly flown in that day!! The friendly, local, enjoyable night out for amazing food was well worth it! If you like seafood, alligator, steak, or other southern food, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch on. Friday. Very friendly bartender who was hustling about as people kept pouring in! We ordered the shrimp po boy and the lobster roll with fries and tots. Everything was really good! My only criticism would be that there was a LOT of onion on the lobster roll. Could do with less. But the lobster was tender and the roll it was served on was delicious! Menu is small and pricey but food came out quickly and was good. We will go back!

I ate here on vacation and I gotta be honest, looks like a huge dive from the outside and I was skeptical of the good reviews, but the food was amazeballs, kinda pricey but I understand why. Chef was also super polite and came and talked to us and made sure everything was A+. I had the crab cakes, I tried my nephews shrimp and grits and also tried my dads seared tuna…. holy EFF, all delicious.
