Great little gem, just off the oval, great food and now featuring drinks at a lovely bar. The staff is glowing and joyful, still kind of new to the oval with lots of intriguing food items as they fill out their menu. Say high to poutine and try the Rhubarb Margarita for a sip of captured spring sensations.

I hate that I have to write this review, I really do, but I need to at this point. I’ll start with the positives. The food at Big Dog is always delicious, that’s never been a problem. What’s a problem is the absolutely abysmal service every single time my family orders from here. For example, today we were quoted a half hour wait for half a dozen bagels (as is, no modifications, not toasted, not sliced)and some cruttah. That, by itself, is bad. But what’s worse is that they weren’t ready for OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF after we had placed the order AND PAID. On top of that, the restaurant was dead and not busy at all. This is the most common type of service problem. Another common problem is them just getting orders wrong. We placed a preorder for a dozen bagels well before Christmas and on the day of, they told us they “lost our order” and we had to wait, again. It also appears that they have no idea how to work their online ordering system in the year 2026. Unacceptable. It’s upsetting and quite frankly embarrassing that this is the spot that replaced Ansamn, a wonderful Haitian take-out food spot run by the family of Chef Chris, our local celebrity chef.
With that said, we will not be coming back and I cannot, in good faith, recommend them. We’ve given Big Dog too many chances. It is a waste of time and just not worth it. I hope Big Dog can fix their issues, but I doubt they will, considering how long they’ve been open.

We have a routine when we go to Milford Town Square in the Mornings. We get our Coffee at Union then scoot over and get our breakfast sandwiches at Big Dogs. They Make a Very good Breakfast Sandwich! And the Staff in the Mornings are wonderful!

I heard the cheesecake is amazing so I had to check this spot out…I was greeted right away by the friendly staff and the adorable Frenchie named Poutine. The wonderful cheesecake lady cut me a slice of cheesecake and poured me a cup of coffee to enjoy. This place gives a “small town, welcome home” kind of vibe. Thank you Big Dog for taking care of me today!

Nobody came to offer me water nor see how I was doing.
Wrote about my concerns privately, got no apology nor offer to try a second time with a discount, nothing. They’re just another dumpy place, but with a dog a lot of customers complain about, and likely will be another dive that goes out of business eventually.

Read so many great review! It was extremely quiet, they had a couple of takeout orders. There was four of us. We ordered to go. 3 bagel sandwiches and toasted bagel with cream cheese. It took 35 minutes. They messed up 3 out of 4 orders. The only good thing was lox bagel. We will not be back! What a shame.

Big Dog Eats is such a gem! The Cherry-Lime Martini is amazing, the bagels are always fresh, and the cheesecakes are incredible.
What truly sets this place apart is Shanna and her wonderful staff. They make every visit feel warm and welcoming, whether I’m there for coffee, mimosas, or a treat. It’s my favorite little spot that always leaves me smiling!

Have had nothing but amazing service and food since big dog eats opened. The owner and staff are very friendly and passionate about their business. The bagels are light and fluffy and if you love a fresh breakfast sandwich, I recommend checking them out!
