I’d say this place is just average. It gave some weird quiet vibes like everyone was whispering. The food is very pricey for what it is. It takes good but overall there are better restaurants in New Haven. The cocktails were ok but nothing too unique. The steak was cooked good, but again expensive. And the burger was no better than one half as costly. But for me, the vibes were just odd, it’s hard to describe. Overall pretty mid.

We decided to have lunch here for their $26 prix fixed menu. It was a good deal and the food was delicious. They are full size portions.
It was very quiet in the restaurant when we were there for lunch on a weekday. Maybe 3 other tables were occupied in addition to ours.
The crispy eggplant and burrata appetizer and the brussel sprouts salad risotto cake appetizers were good. For lunch, I ordered the swordfish special and it was absolutely delicious over couscous. The grilled salmon dish looks delicious too and my friend liked it as well.

Writing this as we are still here. Came for a 2pm seating on a Saturday. Treated to half priced prosecco/champagne and a 3 course price fixed brunch menu priced so well that it’s amazing. The food quality and quantity were wonderful. The menu is diverse and it was hard to choose. I only wish I lived closer. This place is a gem.

It was a “fine” experience. We ordered two of the night’s specials—the squash blossoms and the Ribeye Steak. Unfortunately the steak was incredibly overcooked which killed all the flavour of the sauce (which was actually very good). The squash blossoms weren’t good, squash blossoms are a beautiful delicate eat and they had covered it in a doughy casing like it was fish and chips. Our other entre, the Seafood Linguini was very good. Took 3 attempts of asking for additional bread.

South Bay Mediterranean Kitchen is a hidden gem in Boston for fresh, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the lamb kebab platter — the lamb was tender, perfectly seasoned, and paired beautifully with the rice, hummus, and fresh salad. The portions are generous and well worth the price.
I also tried their falafel — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not greasy at all. The pita bread was warm and fluffy, a perfect complement to the dips.
The space is clean, modern, and comfortable, making it a great spot for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. Service was friendly and attentive, with staff happy to explain menu options.
If you’re craving authentic Mediterranean food in Boston, South Bay Mediterranean Kitchen should be on your list. The flavors are bold, ingredients are fresh, and everything is made to order. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

I took my hubby here today for Father’s Day. Wanted to try something new.
The Place is nicely decorated. We were seated right away.
We started with drinks and hubby had a blackberry mojito which was . I had a tasty white wine.
We ordered grilled Octopus to start with. It was perfectly cooked and tasty. But did need a bit of salt.
We ordered three entrees. The meals did need some salt, the Hanger Steak was nicely seasoned. There was an issue with one of our meals but they were so polite and accommodating. They changed it out and really took care of us. Such great staff. Ultimately their perfect courtesy saved the Father’s Day dinner.
Would definitely be back to try some other things on the menu that sound tasty.

My wife and I came here for date night. We loved the ambiance, but it was terribly cold inside the front room of the restaurant. This could have been because it was 10 degrees outside, but I do feel like something should be done to ensure heat is focused in the front dining room.
The service was great. I have nothing bad to say about that aspect of the restaurant.
We enjoyed the Mediterranean lamb chops and the surf and turf for dinner. The surf and turf was very tasty, I asked for my lamb chips to be cooked medium, but they were rarer than I wanted. Other than that, we enjoyed our dining experience. We also had the duck spring rolls, which were amazing and the half dozen oyster, which were very fresh and tasty.
The drinks were very tasty as well, BTW. Great place for a girls’ night or date night. We would go back to try more items on the menu. I gave an overall 4 stars because of how cold it was in the restaurant.

This is a wonderful restaurant with wonderful and tasty food, as well as very good service. We had a very nice waiter who treated us with great attention – this is a big plus! Very nice atmosphere inside, but we decided to enjoy the last warm days and sat outside. And now I’m ready to share with you how delicious the food was prepared by the magic chef and his team. It was delicious!!!! I ordered myself the most tender, juicy lamb ribs – words cannot describe how delicious it was! My friend ordered fettuccine, she thoroughly enjoyed it and said that it was the best fettuccine she had ever eaten. My friend’s husband took mussels in a delicious red sauce. Oh God, it was just incredibly delicious! And the youngest son ordered himself a salad of arugula and octopus – it was light, with a pleasant mild taste and balanced seasonings, he was enjoyed it, it was delicious! They don’t have kids menu but we ordered finger food for my 4 year old son, thanks very much to our waiter because he recommended it. It was cute little burgers with fries and it was delicious. I cannot give an objective assessment of this restaurant because there is no such number for it, it’s for sure more than 5 stars!!! We had great time and enjoyed our food!!!! Thanks to your chef and his team!!! Thanks to your service staff, they do a great job!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Visited South Bay recently and was completely disappointed. The restaurant was unbearably hot and humid — made dining really uncomfortable. The staff were unfriendly and totally unhelpful, acting like they didn’t want to be there at all.
As for the food, it was honestly the worst I’ve had in a long time. The calamari and fries both tasted old and greasy, like they’d been sitting around forever. The pasta was salty and watery, making it almost inedible. Definitely not worth the price or the experience. Would not recommend!
