This was my first time visiting this place, and I didn’t even bother checking reviews at first—big mistake. I ordered the dal makhani and two tawa rotis, and let me tell you, this is the most watered-down dal I’ve ever had. Where is the makhan? All they did was throw some ghee on top and call it a dish. I’ll even post a picture—it’s pathetic. And $13.99 for this? Are you kidding me? I can make better dal at home. And the worst part—no service at all. I told the guy I was sitting there eating, and he couldn’t even offer me water. What kind of customer service is that? You’ve completely destroyed the name of a Punjabi restaurant. I will never come back, never, in my life.

Great food.
Bland atmosphere.
Service…what service?

My co worker and I were the only ones in the restaurant…attached to a truck stop gas station. The cook sat us down, took our order, cooked and checked us out.

But the food was great. And it looked good.

My recommendation is get take out. You’ll be happy.

I called and ordered biryani and went to pick up the order, but fried rice was given instead. These are completely different dishes. If biryani wasn’t available, it should have been clearly communicated at the time of ordering before I came to pick it up.

I’m not angry, but it did spoil my mood. Someone else might take this more seriously. If you don’t serve biryani, please say it clearly in the first place.

While driving to Fort Wayne, Indiana, I noticed a sign on the highway for the “DAILY GRILL INDIAN RESTAURANT Punjabi Dhaba.” The word “Dhaba” caught my eye, so I googled it and decided to give it a try. I made a U-turn and headed to the restaurant, which is run by Billu Bhaji and Pardeep Bhaji.

From the outside, it looks like an American restaurant, and the inside ambiance is similar to an American diner. I was warmly welcomed by Billu Bhaji, and I told him I was hungry and wanted authentic Punjabi Indian food. I ordered Palak Paneer and Butter Naan.

Let me tell you, the taste was truly authentic—I haven’t had food like that in years. The service was excellent, and the owner even told me that if I didn’t like the food, I wouldn’t have to pay. Who says things like that in today’s world? If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing, and the hospitality is exceptional. They even offered me a chai.

Good luck to them, and I will definitely try to return with my family.

Truly authentic Punjabi food! Good number of vegetarian options. They do NOT serve rice with sabji or daal (just like in India) so you may want to order it separately. The restaurant is almost entirely run by a Sikh gentleman who takes orders and cooks. The food is worth the wait! You can ask for mild, medium or hot spice levels. They put a good amount of mustard oil and kasoori methi, so if you want mild spice levels, you’ll have to ask.

As someone who has been to India 3 times, trust me when i say this is the best, most authentic tasting Punjabi food I’ve ever had in the US.

You come here for the food and thats it. The service is nonexistent, the atmosphere non existent. This place is the most back of the gas station mom-pop type shindig you’ll find. But let me tell you i come back again and again when i want fresh bomb indian food.

I don’t know how they got 4.2 stars

I walked in and the sign said “seat yourself.” I was the only customer there. The cook looked visibly annoyed that I even came in. When I told him I wanted to order, he pointed at the menu with a look of disgust on his face. I explained that I already knew what I wanted, and he just walked off without taking my order.

Extremely rude and unprofessional behavior. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. Will not return.

Every other time we’ve eaten there, everything has been excellent…..This last trip, however, was extremely disappointing. When we ordered, none of us got anything with chicken in it. I ordered Palak Paneer, one of us ordered Lamb Kebabs, one ordered Aloo Gobi Masala, and onenordered Shrimp Tikka Masala. The cook kept saying something about “chicken” and we kept correcting him that none of us ordered chicken, and yet, somehow, ALL OF US ended up with chicken. I live in West Virginia, the least diverse state in the country. If I wanted chicken, I could have made Palak Chicken at home. The one ingredient for Palak that I can’t find in-store or buy online and have shipped to my house is paneer. The cook also yelled at one of the staff members right in front of us, too, which made me a little uncomfortable.

If you’re looking for a yummy meal, you can’t go wrong with garlic naan and butter chicken. They’re a match made in heaven. And don’t forget to try the authentic tandoor wings. They’re crispy, spicy and juicy. You’ll love them!
