I’ve lived in NYC, LA and now Eugene, OR (the latter mention for quality of farm raised meat). I’ve eaten at a lot of “great restaurants”.
The meal I just had tonight was one of the best I can remember. Small but mighty and smoky corn chowder and the Huckleberry brined chicken. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better cooked piece of chicken. The whole, stewed huckleberries were an amazing taste pairing. Barley risotto was also fantastic.
Especially coming in near close, when the kitchen staff could be mailing it in, I was super impressed. Shout out to my bartender/server for the perfect amount of attentiveness.

Excellent atmosphere with the best food we’ve had on our trip to Montana. The elk loin was perfectly cooked and our server, Mary, treated us like family. Great conversation, great suggestions and great food. What a treat!

We had dinner during our honeymoon, and it was wonderful! Savannah was our server and we felt more like friends by the time the meal ended, what a lovely person! We had sliders, both soup options and braised short ribs for her, white fish for me. It was an amazing meal overall! Great fresh and locally sourced food with friendly service. They also have a great wine list!

We ate at Wild Caddis every night and once for breakfast during our three night stay at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. This is the main restaurant in the Lodge. The food is amazing here, and so was the service and atmosphere. This is more of a fancy dining experience, but aside from breakfast, we stayed less formal on our visits and ate on the cozy couches in the bar section of the restaurant.
In any event, Wild Caddis is one of the best restaurants in the Big Sky area. We highly recommend it here and would definitely say it’s worth the 20-minute drive from the base of Big Sky, especially if you are looking for nice dinner options during your trip out there.

What a meal!!! This restaurant has the best food in the area. The bison dish was out of this world so tender you didn’t even need a knife. And the Coqui Saint Jacque is off the chart. These two dishes were made with Perfection. I highly recommend this spot. You will not be disappointed. Hats off the chef. The wait staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is beautiful.

Let’s start with the Duck that my wife ordered, it was recommended to be medium rear so thats what she ordered it was unedbile, pure fat could not eat at all, I hade the Montana Beef Strip Loin the flavor was amazing, but also had a lot of fat. The potatoes were fine and the asparagus was way under cooked, but still edible. Now the good. The waiter (Steve) was just perfect and with grace replace the duck with a lentel salad that was very good. To make the evening even a little sweeter the gave us desert on the house. I ordered the home made chocolate ice-cream, not my favorite but ok. My wife ordered the Strawberry Stack and it was great. The staff was amazing and very understanding of the Duck issue. They removed the duck from the bill, did not charge for the Lentel salad nor the deserts. All in all I would try this again and hope it has improved. With the staff (Waiter Steve) being so nice it still made for a good evening. understanding

Food was fine. The ceviche doesn’t say that it contains dairy so my husband was unable to eat it. I feel like that should be clearly listed on the menu. The bison was great. Everything else was OK.
