McAlister’s never disappoints. The sandwiches are always stacked, fresh, and super filling — you definitely get quality and flavor every time. Everything tastes made-to-order and hits the spot, whether you’re grabbing lunch or dinner. My only wish is that it was a little more affordable, because I’d honestly eat here way more often if it were cheaper. Still, great food and consistent quality!

I got the Ultimate Nachos- so good. Hailey is the best. This was our second time here and both times she was fantastic. Great service, great food!

I had the McAlister’s Club sandwich with a side of mac&cheese. The sandwich was delivered to the table very fast after putting in the order. It was a freshly made sandwich with warm mac&cheese. The deli was very clean, with no trash on the tables. Would definitely go back to try more items off the menu.

My husband and I had lunch today at McAllister’s Deli on 544 in Conway. (We normally dine at the McAllister’s near Coastal Grand). There was no one at the counter when we walked in and we waited a few minutes before the cashier came out – with a big attitude and seemingly annoyed that we interrupted what she was doing in the kitchen. She stood there and stared at us with an unpleasant face. No “Hello”, no “How may I help you” – she just stared at us.
I finally asked her if she was ready to take our order and pointed out that she should greet the customers.

Aside from this unpleasant person, the salad had pieces of rotten greens – see photo (first time I’ve seen this). The greens were wilted and the half sandwich was probably made before the salad, so it was cold. I asked to speak to the manager – a polite young man who apologized and said he will address the issues.

McAllister’s has healthy food options and the food is quite good at Coastal Grand. At the Conway location, they need to train their staff in customer service. Additionally, a hello and a pleasant face will make customers feel welcome and they will return, providing, of course, they improve the food and service at this location.

In 1989 in an abandoned movie-set diner in Mississippi, the deli with the slogan “Our food is our foundation” came to be. Now, with 400 locations in 28 states “they invite you to come for the food and stay for the experience.” From the famous 13 layers of the McAlister’s Club, to the giant Spuds covered with all your favorite toppings, from the delicious sweet tea to succulent soups and decade desserts. I have dined at a number of different locations and have never had a truly bad experience. Yes, some more memorable than others. This location was commendable as soon as I walked in. Clean, bright open dining area with counter ordering and padded booths and high top tables and chairs. Sitting outside one can enjoy the patio or the second story balcony. I ordered the McAlister Club with smoked turkey, Black Forest ham, bacon, sharp cheddar, mix of greens, sliced tomato, mayo and McAlister’s Honey Mustard™ on wheat toast. I enjoyed the many layers of deli fresh meats and cheese, crisp greens and fresh produce, nicely stacked on wheat toast complimented with mayo and honey mustard. My side was the Mac and Cheese, that was hot and creamy with a nice mix of cheddar, American and Neufchatel cheese. To further enhance my deli dining experience, I picked up the Colossal Carrot Cake to go. A nice slice of moist carrot cake with walnuts and cream cheese frosting. My dessert of choice. Needless to say, the whole piece didn’t make it home. The long hair across my pickle was a slight deterrent but counter staff were quick to replace it with 3 more. Kalie was personable and our food came quick.

We decided to stop here after an urgent care visit.
Second time this week.
Because we’ve been sick and my daughter loves your broccoli soup.

I had questions about the kids meal.
Because usually she gets soup.

But she wanted a kids meal with soup.

So I stopped an employee to ask questions.

Where I was told that kids could upgrade to premium sides with an upcharge.
Okay cool.
Go to the register.
Order a kids toastie with a cup of soup.

Girl at register says nothing.

Our food starts coming outside.

They bring her sandwich and say kids sandwich no side.

So I look at my receipt.

To realize I was charged full price for a kids meal with no side. And full price for a coup of soup.

Okay that’s not what I was told.
I walk back in another employee is standing there with my kids soup. “Is that my kids soup?” “Yea”
Okay.

So I go in and ask about the pricing at the register.

Same girl who checked me out tells me I shouldn’t have ordered soup for the child. Kids can’t upgrade to soup.

Well I wasn’t told that.
No where on the menu did it say that.
And I even asked.

So I ask for a manager.
Pink haired girl comes out. Caroline I found out later.

You want a manager?
Yes ma’am.
So I explain it to her.
Where I’m again told kids can’t upgrade to soup.
So why was I told they could?
Idk. Our employees know better.

Clearly they don’t. I was told otherwise. Can I get your name, the girl who told me that’s name and corporate number.?

Sure. And she storms to the back. I’m watching her stand there and talk about me to every employee in the back.
I can hear her.

She then sends the original girl back out who told me that. Later I find out her name is Jamie.
Jamie comes out with an attitude.
“Oh you want corporates number?”
“Yes I do. I don’t need to speak to you, just a number.”

“Oh I’ll get you the number.” As she turns to walk away and mumbles “that ain’t all you’re getting”

So as I watch her run her mouth angrily on the phone, I ask this sweet black haired lady if I can get a cup of fruit for the kids side I was charged for at”no side” that no one said anything to me about.
She steps in the back comes out with fruit.

As another girl walks over and sets my kids soup on the counter and walks away.
Soup she was supposed to carry out. She stood there with watching what I was complaining about. Then refused to carry out to the table. My child’s soup was cold from her just standing there with it.

Jamie comes back out still with an attitude. Tells me there is no corporate and she’s on the phone with her general manager and I can go online to leave a complaint.

I said cool. Grab my kids soup and come back out. Cold soup. Girl stood there for over 5 minutes just holding.

The black haired lady comes out makes sure we have silver ware. And gives me those employees names because they both refused to give them to me.

She was the only upside to the whole visit apologizing for her coworkers terrible behavior.

I would also like to point out upon asking for a manager that employee should not have been allowed to step at me not once but twice with an attitude.
The manager handed it over to the employee who caused the issue to handle. And I never seen the manager again. And was left to deal with a disgruntled employee as a customer.
That is completely unprofessional.
We frequent North Myrtle usually. And I can promise I will drive 45 minutes to North Myrtle before I ever step foot back in Conway and it’s 15 min from my house.

Wasn’t very impressed I think it was a great value for food and it was good however it will be comparable to gourmet hospital food.

Didn’t really taste the freshness quality like I expected or would get from a comparable establishment like Panera Bread. I’m sure others like McAlister’s which is why I went to check out the hype. The location of this McAlister’s is everything because it’s close to student housing so it serves that consumer need.

I ordered the King Club with chicken tortilla soup for about $11 on the pick 2 menu.
The soup was great, tortilla chips were stale, and the crackers were soft.
