The service is horrendous. They make you feel incredibly unwelcome. They rarely check on your table. Basically throw the menus at you and tell you to sit wherever when you walk in. They also bring the food out before the drinks and give hella judgmental attitude while you order.
AND THEY CHARGE YOU EXTRA for a to go container for leftovers. They say the containers are expensive so they have to charge extra. Ridiculous. That’s part of overhead when running a business, adjust your prices accordingly.
Plus they probably wouldn’t have even told me if I hadn’t requested the container after I paid. (Which I only did because we were waiting for long for ANY waiter/waitress to check in on us so I had to go up to the counter to pay and ask for the box.)
To Pho is the only place in the High Desert/Victor Valley that I recommend.
Family-owned, hardworking, and they care about the food they serve.
I’ll be honest: I have had better pho… but you’d have to travel 8,000 miles to get it.
For our area, this is as close to authentic Vietnamese flavor as you’re going to get — and the value is great, too.
Highly recommended.
Decided to try this spot out, I’m from down the hill. Driving out of my way, didn’t, it disappoint.
Had the pho special (Dac Biet) and spring rolls. Place has a small menu, all the main classics in a pho shop, concentrating on the best stuff.
Staff is friendly, laughter coming from the kitchen means happy staff, means good food for me.
When the waitress took our drink orders, I asked for water. Everyone else received their drinks, but mine never came. When I reminded her, she said she would bring it later. I politely insisted, and she laughed before finally bringing it. Throughout the meal, we often had to raise our hands or call out to get her attention, because she rarely came by our table on her own. Later, another party joined our table, and when we asked for menus, the waitress told us to get them ourselves from the front counter. When we finished eating and asked for to-go cups for our pho, she also told us to grab them at the counter.
Overall, the food is about 3.5 stars out of 5, but the service, which was the main reason I came back, really fell short this time. The waitress wasn’t rude, but the way she handled things felt careless and unprofessional.
