O. Wow
Let’s be honest, what more can I say than what’s already been said. For once the influencers aren’t BS’ing you. Amongst the many mexican nieves vendors that exist within particular barrios of NYC, this one stands out. Homemade (right in the street) using traditional methods. Family owned and run.
Quality ingredients, here. Each flavor actually includes the ingredient for which it is named, its not just a flavoring. Pineapple is made with pineapple. Coconut with coconut. And the nieves consistency is perfect.
Service is fast and friendly. And it’s affordable. In a city that’s more concerned with image than quality, content, and authenticity, what’s not to love about Nieves Cortes?

Definitely worth the wait in line! Even though it may go down the block, it moves pretty fast. When you’re looking for a refreshing treat in the heat of summer, this is the place you go out of your way to find!

If you have not tried “nieves” or Mexican sorbet, you need to do so ASAP! This snack is a staple in Mexican culture and across central america. This business is located near Maria Hernandez Park – at the corner of Knickerbocker & Suydam. They carry different flavors; including seasonal flavors. Make sure to stop by and support this small business! You won’t regret it.
