This place is marketed as Israeli cuisine, yet the menu is largely made up of well-known Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes. The lack of clear acknowledgment of the food’s origins makes the branding feel misleading. It would be more accurate and respectful to represent the cultural origins of the food properly….
Beyond that, the food itself was disappointing — bland, not fresh, and lacking authenticity. Overall, both the quality and the way the cuisine is represented felt misleading.

BenjYehuda is a friendly Middle Eastern spot that serves up tasty, made-to-order meals with fresh ingredients. The falafel and shawarma are flavorful and filling, and there are nice options for salads and sauces too. The staff always greeted me with a smile and took time to answer questions about the food, which felt genuine and welcoming. Portion sizes are generous and the price is very reasonable. If you want a good, quick meal that does not skimp on flavor, this place is a solid pick.

Fast casual spot that takes it to the next level. The chicken is savory and the falafel is phenomenal. Come hungry because the portions are generous. Don’t for get to add fries or soup if you want to, and never skimp on this sauce!
The team at this location are great!!!!!!

A great spot for lunch! I didn’t realize it was like a Mediterranean subway until I walked in lol but they were quick and helpful at getting me the right sandwich! The cashier was super kind and helped sort out my confusion about checkout. The gyro wrap was very tasty and hit the spot, and the fries are great very crunchy and the right amount of salt! Yum! It gets crowded so make sure you set aside enough time to go on your lunch break

My 1st time here. The combo salad was fresh and delicious. The staff was accomodating – and friendly. The cost was competitive.
I will certainly visit again when I am in the area.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. So delicious the chicken and spicy falafel are awesome. Do add their garlic sauce. It’s creamy and yummy with the spicy sauce. I had taken so many of my friends here!

BenjYehuda on La Salle is an excellent spot for fresh and flavorful Mediterranean food in the heart of Chicago. I tried the chicken shawarma bowl with hummus and pita, and the flavors were incredible—well-seasoned, generous portions, and very satisfying. The falafel was also crispy and delicious without being too heavy. Service was quick and friendly, which makes it perfect for a lunch break downtown. The restaurant itself is casual, clean, and easy to relax in while enjoying a meal. Prices are fair for the quality and portion size, and I could easily see this being a go-to for both individual meals and group catering. Highly recommend the shawarma or falafel for first-timers—this place does Mediterranean food right.

It’s good, but not amazing. I’ve had naf naf and roti and think they’re superior. I will say the portion is extremely large, but you pay a pretty high price as well. I had the bowl and fries + drink and it was over $20. Probably my bad on getting the fries when I couldn’t even consume that much food but I still think the price is quite steep. It’s good but I just found the flavors lacking compared to other Mediterranean style places I’ve had before. The fries that everyone raves about I also thought were just ok. Mine might have been slightly overcooked but the seasoning and cheese made them good. They definitely weren’t amazing or anything tho.
