First time to visit Heards and we were so disappointed. We walked in and we didn’t know how to order and wasn’t very clear. Once we were acknowledged we were handed taped together menus with the days specials which were not impressive. When I go to a barbecue establishment I’m expecting a menu with chicken, pork, etc. No plates were listed, no beans, no potato salad, etc. I ordered the pork sandwich and my wife got the cheeseburger. We also shared an order of fries and coleslaw. I will say the pork was super tender and the sauce although a little sweet was ok. My wife’s burger had a great flavor and the toppings were fresh. The coleslaw was also sweet and honestly didn’t wow us. The fries were frozen and again nothing special. The dining room lacks any southern atmosphere and honestly looked unfinished. The woman taking orders behind the counter started talking to other customers in the dining room in the middle of taking an order with another customer. We’ve been talking about trying this place for years, even before they moved to there new location which is closer to our home. It will honestly be some time before we dine here again. I do encourage others to try it out. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and taste buds. I hope the owners take my constructive criticism for the future and make some positive changes.

I have been wanting to try Heards BBQ for years at its original location, but I never made it there. I was told their BBQ was top-notch. I was recently in Clanton for business and decided to swing by their new location for lunch. I picked up my order to go. I got the loaded bbq fries, and they were great! The fries were fresh cut, and the chopped pork bbq on top was delicious! Their sauce is fantastic. From what some of the locals were saying, their prices have gone up in the new location and are too expensive, but from my experience eating BBQ all across the south, the prices seem to be right in line with most other places and I got a ton of food for what i paid. I will definitely be back!

I got the BBQ fries. I’d rather they be fresh cut fries but understand it wouldn’t be fast for them to make. The only reason I give 4 Star is I can not eat such sweet sauce. It makes me sick to my stomach. I wish they had the same flavor but not sooooo sweet. My tea was very sweet as well and had to get 1/2 & 1/2. Some folks (obviously) love the sweet but I can not. The food was good. Meat- excellent, moist with flavor.
I can’t eat here for the bbq unless I don’t get sauce and that’s not bbq without the sauce. Man, it’s way to sweet.
Overall, if u like sweet sauce, come try.

While the bbq wasn’t bad, trying to know when it’s open for business is a major challenge. Went several times only to find business closed, even around the lunch hour. A business that isn’t consistent doesn’t stay in business for long. In fact, I think they closed for good, from what I see driving by.

This is my favorite place to eat in all of Clanton, and it’s not even close. They have a new menu everyday of the week, with rotating options. Everything I have had there so far has been great. The owner is really nice too; haven’t seen him without a smile yet.

I don’t even write many reviews anymore but I had to jump on here and say that this was hands down the best Philly cheesesteak I have ever had in my life. It put all others to absolute shame. Staff were super friendly and you can tell all the locals love it too!

I had heard such great things about this place and was really disappointed. We got the pulled chicken plate and a barbeque chicken sandwich. The plate was served with 2 sides, we got cole slaw and baked beans. There was no barbeque sauce provided for the pulled chicken. When we asked for some it was an extra charge. Also the pulled chicken was swimming in grease. Really strange for chicken. It was too greasy to eat. The barbeque chicken sandwich was good but dry. I didn’t bother buying more barbeque sauce.

Heard’s is great! So glad we’ve now got a Clanton location as well. The burger and Q are very good! The new location needs some decor, maybe a few throw pillows. But other than that, ya’ll are really doing well!

The absolute BEST bbq! Customer service is above and beyond. Every time I try something new, I say this is my new favorite. Rotating menu so it’s always different. Set bbq menu is delicious!!

This place is literally the BEST place I’ve been to since moving here to Alabama.
I’m just so sad that they left Maplesville because now I don’t get to eat there as much. They need to open more locations or open a large restaurant. This place is so Amazing they could do anything!!! BEST BBQ IN ALABAMA FOR SURE!!!!
