Overall positive eating experience! Staff was very friendly and attentive. I personally had the farmers omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will most definitely be back to this nice little spot when I come back to Alice

Local favorite. Open for breakfast and lunch till 3:00 pm. Closed on Mondays.
Operated by sisters who are always there making sure everything is right. Their food is consistently excellent and the service is great. Staff is very attentive.
They have a different lunch special each day, like homemade pot pie, etc. Also, a different homemade soup each day. Some of the favorites on their menu are chicken fried steak, fried catfish, and BLT sandwiches. All are good!

This is a very fine establishment. The waiters are very carrying and generous to the customer, as well as the building having this vibe of coziness and intimacy. Also, the bathrooms are very clean and the cinnamon rolls are to die for, and the daily specials are inexpensive. Overall a great dining experience!

Excellent staff. Really make you feel at home. Cozy atmosphere. My bacon burger was tasty. The fries were great. Sampled the pot roast. Boy was that good. Next time you are down 281, stop by for a bite to eat.

Catfish had two large filets with curled-cut country fries. Catfish had good breading and good flavor. The tartar sauce had not sweetness and was a small serving for the amount of catfish.
The chicken strips were three large chicken breasts deep fried. Good and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Service was a little slow but friendly.

Never stopped here before today because the place is always packed with people. I am now wondering why that is. I ordered the chicken pot pie special with a vegetable soup and my wife ordered the chicken fried steak. The soup had no flavor. The green beans were crunchy and the mashed potatoes were from a box. The chicken pot pie was inedible because it tasted like they poured a whole box of pepper in it. The chicken fried steak was just as peppery. We left the majority of the food on the plate. Not returning to this restaurant.

It would have been nice to try the food people have said to be great. My husband and I walked in and sat at a table, several waitresses watched, and waited to be achknowled. We waited over 10 minutes while we watched the staff go from the counter to the back. There was a waitress sitting at a table eating with family and we thought “oh she must be on break”, nope she was getting up and serving the people at her table while eating. Another couple came in and since there were no more clean tables, several were dirty and had dishes left on them, they went to the front counter and a passing waitress told them to have a seat anywhere in the back dining area and given menus. Thinking that we were just new to this restaurant and we should have went up to the counter before sitting to get service, we went up to the waitress and she just told us to sit and someone would be with us. After 15 minutes by then that was the first time we were even acknowledged even though every time in passing we were looked at by all the staff. We ended up leaving. I can understand if they were busy or packed but that wasn’t the case. And to be COMPLETELY ignored for 15 minutes and just barely told to sit and wait and not even given menus in my opinion not worth however good the food MIGHT have been. Completely disappointed especially since most the reviews claimed of excellent service. Won’t be wasting any more time trying to eat here.

Really good selection of food at this family run restaurant. Friendly waitstaff. Good chicken fried steak, hamburger steak and club sandwich. Awesome, unique french fries. Today it was packed at lunch. Got the last parking space in the lot!

In my opinion the food was not good at all. It lacked seasoning, but one thing my food did not lack in was pepper. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes tasted as if they were from a box and had no flavor at all. The chicken fried steak was tough and had an obscene amount of pepper. I don’t know if we went on a day when the cook was having a bad day but we will not be going back to try it again.
