My biggest issue was the flavor profile: the entire plate was overwhelmingly sweet. I ordered oxtails expecting that rich, savory, deeply seasoned gravy that Jamaican oxtail is known for, but what I received was oxtail soaked in sugar…something I’ve never encountered in traditional preparation. The rice absorbed the same sweetness, which made the dish even less enjoyable.
The sides didn’t offer any balance either. The mac and cheese was sweet, the collard greens were sweet, and overall the meal lacked the savory depth, seasoning, and authenticity you’d expect from Jamaican comfort food. I’m not a sweets person at all, and sweet meat is a major pet peeve of mine, so this was especially disappointing. I could not enjoy more than a couple bites of each before I had to set the plate to the side.

Not the “Best Taste” for Authentic Caribbean Food
I really wanted to love Best Taste Jamaican & American Restaurant, but unfortunately, the food fell far short of expectations. While the service was decent and the staff was friendly, the taste of the dishes was a major letdown.
First, the Brown Stew and Curry—two staples of Jamaican cuisine—were way too sweet and lacked that deep, savory, authentic flavor I was craving. The sauce just didn’t taste right, almost as if it was missing key spices or had an odd sweetness that shouldn’t be there.
The oxtails were just mediocre—not terrible, but not great either. They weren’t as tender as they should be; real Jamaican oxtails should be falling-off-the-bone soft, and these were just… okay. The rice, however, was actually really good—flavorful and well-seasoned, which was a saving grace.
Then there was the snapper, which took way too long to come out, especially since we ordered it early in our meal. When it finally arrived, it was decent, but the wait wasn’t justified.
The mac and cheese was a complete miss—way too cheesy in an artificial, sweet way that made it borderline unpleasant. The toddler couldn’t even finish it.
The atmosphere was nice—vibrant colors, music playing—but that doesn’t make up for disappointing food. For $80 for three plates with sides and drinks, I expected way better.
Final thoughts? If you’re looking for real, authentic Jamaican flavors, this isn’t the spot. The oxtails and rice were good, but everything else missed the mark. I won’t be rushing back.

Very nice people and the service was excellent but I have to be honest .. first the address is wrong on Google so I had to drive to the right location after contacting them twice .. Food is already prepared which isn’t a problem if you can do it right but unfortunately some things can’t be pre prepared if you’re not busy .. like fried chicken .. it was dry and you can tell it was sitting in a oven warming for hours.. it had that stringy tough feel to the chicken .. not juicy and crispy AT ALL… Collard greens should never in life be sweet .. taste like they put some type of sweetener in it .. terrible .. as you see in the picture the macaroni literally has no cheese in on it around it .. STRAIGHT NOODLES …cornbread is cake not cornbread … Smh … I love my people but we got to do better and stop tryna cut corners so it RIGHT THE FIRST TIME .. for $13 TOTAL it’s not the end of the world and I’ll be back if I’m in desperate need and can’t find anything else open but I definitely won’t be ordering no more chicken , Mac n cheese or collard greens ..

Great vibe when you walk in very calming and relaxing. Customer service was great… Now to the FOOD.
Patty was burn a tad bit
Banana pudding was thrown together
Brown stew chicken sauce was bland chicken was cooked properly and was juicy rice was ok.. honestly could have been better if it wasn’t rush or of there was a older Jamaican cooking from starch back there… Expected better since it was slow but 1 plate 1 patty banana pudding 1coco bread $30 wasn’t worth it to me
#ebridge a shaky no go

I ordered through Uber eats, had a taste for oxtails and my fave spot on main wasn’t available. Will never ever do that again. The food was horrible and I didnt even get the vegetables and Cornbread that was advertised to come with my food. I ordered a large oxtail and recieved a tray full of rice with bones fat and some gross thick sugary sweet gravy. It was so bad that im not even willing to try anything else. They should be ashamed to have made that tray. I paid almost $30 and it was so gross I looked up this restaurant just to write a review and I never do that. I usually just rate through the delivery service. If you have ever eaten here and like it then make sure you always go in person and if you have never tried then I would say dont because the tray I received shows they clearly dont care about the business or their customers. I couldn’t even save the rice because it was soaked in that thick gross gravy. Completely unedible.

I ordered the brown stew chicken and oxtails, but my first surprise was the choice of sides considering this restaurant is labeled as Jamaican. The brown stew and oxtails both tasted as if they were made with barbecue sauce. The collard greens tasted canned, and the sweet potatoes looked undercooked. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience.

This food was disgusting that I bought a whole bunch of sugar no seasoning no way in America anywhere in the world that these people are Jamaican. They need to stop using Jamaicans name and given us a bad name anybody who know anything about buying oxtail from a Jamaican restaurant it is slamming it is out of this world, but this restaurant who claim to be Jamaican the food is disgusting. It was so salty. I had to take my medication immediately to control my blood pressure from exploding. If you want to buy good Jamaican food and not get pissed off do not buy this food horrible. The truth of the matter is instead of Making some phonic claim that you people are Jamaican just hire it Jamaican chef that can really cook turn your business around that way but the way you’re going no one will ever re-order unless they never eat Jamaican food before I have no idea what good cook food taste like
