Customers ordering takeout should not be expected to cook their own food. If there has been a change in preparation practices, it was not communicated during the order. Customers should never be served food in a condition that could pose health hazards, particularly without clear warning or consent.
This poses a serious health risk, especially for customers who may not be aware that the dish contains raw meat or who assume the food is ready to eat. When I contacted the restaurant to address the issue, the owner abruptly ended the call without offering any resolution.
I believe this practice violates food safety standards and fails to inform customers of potential risks. Proper food handling and customer communication protocols are not being followed.
The richness and flavor of the broths and spices are what originally drew me to this shop, but everything here is made with a great deal of love and care (something that shows immediately when you try the food). The beef pho is delicious and the chicken pho is my go-to order when one of my family members is sick. As a chicken wing enthusiast, I would also highly recommend the glazed wings.
I eagerly await the announcement on their Facebook page every Friday to see what the special is for the weekend and HIGHLY recommend doing the same to make sure you know when your favorites are being served (Especially the beef short rib pho) and can stop by while it’s in stock.
Having become somewhat of a regular, I’m happy to say that this quality is consistent across the days and the service is always wonderful. Food is also brought to the tables quickly and at its hottest to make sure you get the best meal possible. It’s a great indicator of a good shop when the employees are happy to talk about the food and even happier to give their own recommendations.
The shop atmosphere is quiet and intimate, but worth noting is decorated by murals made by local artists. It truly feels like the town’s shop loved by the community and not just a random restaurant.
For the food, service, and atmosphere, I give it five stars.
To address the one complaint that I see consistently across reviews (selling out of products), I would like to offer that this is a small local restaurant that is INCREDIBLY popular with its regulars who make a habit of watching Vin Bun’s socials to know when things are in stock and when to go. Definitely take a look at their pages to see what’s available if you’re dead set on trying a specific dish before setting out or order takeout of a dish early to eat later if need be. It’s a good sign that they’re selling out of these dishes, but it’s definitely a bummer to miss out at times!
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a comforting meal on a cool day. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu — especially the spring rolls and iced coffee I saw at the next table!
Highly recommend this place if you’re craving real, delicious Vietnamese food.
The owners are pure magic and just down right wonderful humans who put so much love, pride, and hard work into every single thing they do. From the service to the food to being with the people who walk in through these doors. It’s like coming in the house and everyone is happy to see you and want to make sure you eat and eat well.
Portions are always great and flavors are just everything. Fresh. Authentic.
When I say I love everything I’ve tried. I mean it.
